Hi Penelope, unfortunately it all comes down to copyright restrictions. I'm sure you can catch up with the series via one of the many streaming services.
The video gives a good impression of the museum which is definitely worth a visit but please change the misspelling at the beginning, “emersive” to “immersive”. Alf Wight would have noticed this!
Thank you for recreating such a heart warming and charming show and stories by Alf Whight, so well done and acted. Feels like we are really there in Daroby in the 1930s and 40's!❤
Of course I don't know the man personally , but Siegfried was always my favorite. and I think he aged very well. Phenomenal actor! Much respect. Was moved to buy the 7 season collection as that show was so wonderful and CLEAN. (If you know what I mean) Must say, my German Shepherd will watch this INTENTLY all through an episode, lol.
I confess to having wept when I heard of his passing. For me, ACGS was my favorite television program. Ever. And the books still retain their place on the top shelf.
Love the guy, we are watching All Creatures right now so this brings me to this interview. I knew he died a few years ago. Reached a great age. I was in the Lakedistrict in 2013 and we went to North Allerton and god how I hated the Yorkshire Dales. I remember vividly saying to my wife: "We are driving trhough the James Herriot Open Air Museum.....does it never end." We missed trees so much, so it is not for me. But the series is great and I love the setting nevertheless. It seems to me Robert Hardy was very similar to the Siegfried character he played in "James Herriot" as the series was called in my native Netherlands. Every inch a gentleman, easy to love and easy to accept his flaws. A person that will be missed. I wonder: what did he die from. Just old age? He was very sharp still it seems at 91 years of age.
I read his first book when I was 10 years old and I still remember the scene intently. He was in a cow house delivering the calf, and the snow was settling on his back. I don't think I'll ever forget that. His books have brought me much joy throughout the years.
Usually any remakes are not as good as the first (book or movie). However, this current version is so special! I love the actors who are playing James and Helen. I had to purchase the 2 DVD's and will when the new Season 3 and Season 4 come out. Could watch this over and over! Makes me wish we could go back to those simpler times.
“Whatever you heard I didn’t do it.” Oh tris what did you do?? I mean you did just fail collage, spent all your brothers money he sent u, and stole a ride on a train.
The brilliance of this man playing Seigfried is mind boggling - its the greatest thing ive ever seen on TV or film - i wont watch any of the new ones because , WHY ? , we've seen the best
One of my absolute favourite series of all time. Brilliant cast and acting. It was re-made a couple of years ago which was a mistake in my view. I watched 5 minutes of it and it was disappointing. I had not heard of any of the actors or actresses and their performances were am-dram in comparison to the original cast.
Hi, I've been listening to the James Herriot audio books on RU-vid the past few days, and just want to say how much I enjoy them. I first found his books in the local library years ago, and loved reading them. Then I saw the tv shows here in America on public television. I had no idea that wasn't his real name, and I really enjoyed watching the tour his son gave of the house. It's lovely there, and the statue really is beautiful. I'm an animal lover, and a history buff, so just wanted to say thank you for sharing. 😺
Love James, such a sweet soul and might I add very handsome. So happy they remade this lovely series. It's great fun to watch. The setting reminds us a lot of where live in Tennessee
We have been watching this sweet series on PBS. I bought the 1st season on blu-ray and preordered the 2nd season from Amazon. Love all the characters especially Mrs. Hall. Tristan is great fun and Siegfried is quite the character (funny, can be harsh but deep down a softie)
I have been watching the new series of "All Creatures Great and Small" on PBS. Such a lovely series and the characters are magnificent especially Mrs. Hall. I just bought the 1st season on blu-ray and pre-ordered the 2nd season from Amazon. Tristan is great fun and Sigfried is quite the character.
James Herriot/Alf Wight is my favorite author. I've been going through the most stressful year of my life and re-reading his books have brought me immeasurable comfort and joy.
