I looked into doing this once, though I’d have tried to measure the resistance of the element (or measure the current through the MOSFET to determine the temperature of the hot-end. 4-wire sensing would help. But the tips on those irons are just trashy. Anything other than a fine-pointed conical, please, I don’t want to hold my iron at 30 degrees from horizontal. Also a T12 diy kit is like $20.
If by accident you update with firmware for DS1000Z-E, and DS is named DS1104Z download firmware for DS1000Z, and change the name of firmware file DS1000ZUpdate by DS1000Z-EUpdate, it may accept the update even if its older. Once updated, turn off and on the DS, if the original DS10X4Z appears, then you can upgrade with firmware files named DS1000ZUpdate.GEL
8:23 "And the end result is pretty useless" 😂 Best part of the video! I realized that is the truth with most of the projects, some time after I started the hobby. The fun is always worth though! I got this in a set of 9 kits for soldering practice. I'll start by this one. Thank you very much for the guidance!
The hardware went end-of-life and I don't think they are selling the licenses anymore. It must have just been a nice guy move on rigol to give the features away
very interesting... 🥳 on RemoteXY the esp32 runs out of memory on an Bluetooth app it would be nice to have an esp32 or the like with twice of the memory. 😕 thanks.👌
Thanks, very helpful video. I did wonder about the other guy's video's results as I've never had the problem he seemed to be claiming as long as the probes were clean. I use the standard probes that came with my fluke and never had an issue.
Why there is no Dimension layer 20 at [Sec_2] of this CAM job ? Not sure but wherever is copper layer there should be Dimension as well ?? As of today, 15.05.2021, the DSER code works but now the systeminfo shows DS1204Z. What ?? It just jumped to 200 Mhz? Firmware version: 00.06.01, board version 0.1.4
Need to make a full list of parts to make a 4 and 6 tube clock. I have those flat ones and some inverted tubes i would love to use as clocks. Even have some orange ones or "red"
Hi. It's also one of my favorite tools (along with the first all metal digital caliper by General). I just had my T12 a few days ago, it has the 2.12 firmware. The rebranded Quicko is about 100% cheaper than the KSGER one but it only comes in the MINI which can be great durability but maybe not for looking good or stacking. The Quicko one is just US$22, shipped and comes with the blue and yellow, comics X-Men iron:-) ) Someday, when I have more budget, I'll sell, donate or giveaway my Quick 858D and T12 and get the very cool KSGER 2 in 1 combo unit with the black and chrome metal iron:-) God bless, Rev.21:4
Buy liquid solder in syringe, apply with pin to pads, then place parts and simply use a normal hot air gun to reflow, I've even done double-sided boards like this
maybe if you put flux on first to remove oxidation during soldering. If you mean if you could use an ordinary soldering iron... welll that would be kind of awkward I think. THe liquid solder turns from a grey paste into shiny solder as the temperature increases... An ordinary hot air gun works fine, even on very small parts as the paste is a bit sticky so parts don't blow away
Thank you. This was super easy via USB. My 1504Z came from TEquipment with all options installed (except 100MHz of course). Since I will not likely be tethering it on the bench ever again, it seemed a little silly to download the enormous UltraSigma software just to unlock this one feature but what an upgrade it is. I can hardly complain when it only took some of my time.
HA! Don't be a fool, like me, and Press OK _after the update finishes!_ Go against all your GUI-User training and just pull the Flash Drive out, and cycle the power!!
The price from the Chinese manufacturers is certainly a huge selling point. But sometimes when ordering from China I've had to pay big bucks in import duty. Factoring this occasional overestimated import duty into the price makes it look nowhere near as good as it initially did. I'd love to find a good priced European manufacturer... although I live in stupid England, do before long I'll be paying import duty of European products too. The local Manufacturers in England charge crazy prices, even those who claim to aim at the hobby market want over a hundred GBP (roughly 1:1 with Euro) for a small 10 board order.
be careful my AliEpress KSGER costs me $80 and failed with a runaway tip heat and melted a nearby power cord. broken wires in the cheap handle were the cause, I have yet to get a replacement from AliExpress or the KSGER Store that sold it to me. it has been 4 weeks. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-65ASKZczA2Y.html
The link for "Ultra Sigma Software:" is dead (2020-09), since the name and software is not mentioned it´s hard to know what to look for at the official Rigol software download pages, anyone have links and names?
Thanks for the great video! I would like to know how to program ESP chips OTA(over the air). With a local connection, it can be done through a network port. How about doing it globally. (ESP connected to wifi and computer to another different wifi and running OTA flashing)
My use of JLCPCB wasnt good, as i am making parts for Switching, a no SolderMask on some of it and they EMAIL ME and EMAIL me and Email me every time on every board. Even tho in the Past they have been OK with it i said OK with it. They Keep EMAIL me and Wasting TIME for a WHOLE WEEK how i feel i am Looking for a ANOTHER COMPANY .. Third time they Flipped around so MUCH and they dont give a HOOT about it .. i guess CHEAP and thats what you get.. so i dont mind paying a Bit MORE if the company is Good Enough..
Clearly, he didn't lol just makes it look that way so he can attract other sponsors and Free shipping form JLC is like a white unicorn, Everyone heard about it but no one has seen it hahaha. Shipping normally costs about the same as what you pay for the boards and most times a little more, unless you order a stencil then you can double the price for shipping because instead of cutting the stencil down to a few cm bigger than the board itself they send you a full-size 11cmX15cm sheet even if it is for a PCB that is 10mm by 20mm and( if you don't, believe me, I can send you photos lmao the first time it happened I nearly fell off my chair) in a few weeks after getting your boards you get a surprise invoice by the shipping companies asking for the brokerage fee's lol Something no one seems to talk about!
