Doris Day sang this song. My mom being how she was, walked right up to Doris Day's home and rang the door bell one day when we were out visiting in Palm Springs. Doris answered the door herself and they talked for a minute, then let Mom inside. They talked about their dogs, my mom had seven at the time, and had some Thrifty Rocky Road ice cream. Mom was with her idol for over an hour, I think she forgot I was in the car. Mom said Doris was as sweet at home as she was on the big screen.😊

Yes, great acoustics. When we did our sound check before the show the docents said it "sounded great". Then we realized my vocal microphone wasn't even on yet! 😂 The choirs that sang in this church in the 1890s must have sounded wonderful.

I had direct ancestors who worked on the Erie Canal - one as a lock keeper between Wurtsboro and Ellenville, NY, and one as a barge operator. (I also had even more relatives and even direct ancestors who worked on the Erie Railway. Not the same enterprise, but the same area of New York / Pennsylvania.)
