My brother and I recieved hearing aid consulting at the same time. I needed to stay in-network. My brother was paying cash. We both wanted on-going local audiologist consulting. He used Zip hearing, and got a price over $1k lower per ear. We both had local service and an on-going contract. My provider charged extra forbthe hearing test, and a $300 non-refundabl deposit. My brother got a no-comittment trial with the testing cost in the no-commitment contract from zip hearing. Zip hearing helped my brother get a better deal.

We work with offices nationwide, you might want to visit our website at ziphearing.com and type in your zip code to check if there is a provider nearby :)
Oh Tom......I'm so sorry for your experiences prior to getting these aids somewhere you trust; it is so unfortunate that many hearing journeys start that way. I would just like to say that not all Hearing Specialists are salesmen; some of us truly care about our patients and are well educated & professional. I always advocate trusting your gut instinct when meeting ANY hearing professional weather they are an Audiologist or Hearing Specialist, and be willing to walk away if you are not feeling comfortable. I just fit my Dad with Phonak Lumity Life90's and he is also loving the experience. Thanks for your candid review Tom 🦻

Thanks for the post. Just about to get my 1st hearing aids, same situation as you big brand name outlet vs the local professional, thanks goodness I found your video. Cheers from Australia. Thanks again for your help.
can you please share some more details about the titanium molds? Which company did you use? what was the lead time? Anything would be extremely helpful, and thanks for the video
Technically any hearing aid retailer/provider that works with Phonak can get you those molds made...they make impressions of your ears and then send them off to Phonak. I got mine through ZipHearing (same company that I got the aids from) but you'd want to contact whoever your hearing provider is that fit you with the Phonak hearing aids.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Personally, my hearing loss greatly effects my ability to hear in noise. With that being the case, the best hearing-in-noise functionality is usually implemented in the highest tech levels of each hearing aid. So for me, I would lean more towards the 24, or the highest tech level in any hearing aid. However, your situation may be greatly different than mine. Head on over to the site and see the breakdown between the different tech levels! www.ziphearing.com/starkey-genesis-ai?
Great! I just got these a week ago. First time ever wearing hearing aids. I can't always tell where a sound is coming from, maybe that'll get better as I get used to them. Also some things sound artificial. Maybe that'll get better as well, or maybe that's the way they really sound, I honestly don't know for sure. I agree with wearing glasses, sometimes they rub and make scratching noises. If you wear a hat, the hat can rub the aid and makes a scratching noise as well. Other than that, I really like these guys.
So happy to hear you are enjoying them! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for watching! Be sure to subscribe for more! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
I just watched two of your videos, this one and the Signia pure charge and go. Can you please tell me do you have a preference of one over the other and why? I am going to base my choice of my first set of hearing aids on this.
Hi there! Great question! In one of our other videos I gave the crowning victory to these oticon intent hearing aids! Go check out the video for my explanation! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jAcaGvLhnNA.htmlsi=YKFMoCnDpn0-lhYa?
Like many other electronic devices with a built in battery, the battery will definitely have a lifespan. Feel free to reach out via email or phone call and chat with us to get an answer to that question! Be sure to subscribe for more content! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
Thanks for watching and thanks for the question! The Pure IX is recommended for people with mild to severe hearing loss. Someone with profound loss may want to check out some other options. However, this discussion is best had with an audiologist or hearing specialist for the highest level of accuracy and guidance! Thank you for sharing such a great user experience video. I’m in the UK and had my Audiology consultation today. And settled on this device as it seemed the perfect solution to my lifestyle needs. At 68 decided that addressing hearing loss now was the thing to do. After watching your video, I’m excited at the thought of getting them. All the best and thanks again!

Dude! You are me! My hearing loss is moderate-severe. I had the Phonak Audeo previously and still struggled with meetings, phone calls, restaurants, and playing my guitar. I have the Luminty version now and they’re better. But still struggle at times. Interested in hearing more about your Music program. I’m still trying to find a good custom program for when I play guitar.
Hey there! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I’m not going to lie, it took me a few visits to really get these dialed in. My best advice is to take some notes on things that are bothering you and that you would like to have remedied. Then, bring those notes to your hearing specialist and describe the issues as best as you can. Don’t be afraid to go back multiple times for tweaks! lots of comments on this review and others that say the Bluetooth sound quality is poor to average at best. Streaming is becoming so popular that I would hope for better. I'm going to give these a try (trail) but looks like I may try the Phonak Audeo Infino. I wonder why people get a HA that has Aurcast when it will not be around for years, and the average HA only last a few years. That being the case it may be smarter to just wait it out till Aurcast hits mainstream.
Hi there! Some people may not be in a situation where they have the option to wait for a newer model, maybe their devices reached the end of their life cycle or perhaps these are someone’s first HA’s! Knowing that there is some tech inside that could prove to be useful down the line may be enticing for some folks! Regarding streaming quality, I also wish that it was better! However, the smaller size of the hearing aid does not allow for large drivers like those in headphones. This limitation leads to a less rich and full audio signal. what would be recommended for single sided tinnitus, with no hearing loss? I was recommended evoke 50 but downside it is not rechargeable, any equivalent rechargeable model?
Give the custom molds a try if you can afford them. My audiologist kept saying they wouldn't help me. I have steep high frequency hearing loss and small ear canals. After about a year. Finally got them. Nothing is going to make your hearing be 100%. To me the improvement seemed like leaps an bounds. I won't be going back to domes. I didn't have any occlusion, but wind noise seemed loud for a few months. Still have trouble in noisy situations but that is never going to change. Seems that no matter the type of hearing loss. Everyone has that problem. Even people with great hearing
Thanks for the comment! I completely agree, if someone can swing the expense the molds are worth a try! I found that both of my molds certainly helped with the ability to hear in noise. Be sure to subscribe for more content! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
I think I need to discuss this with my provider since I can't hear voices when I am some place really noisy (like a busy Cracker Barrel or other restaurant), even with the server standing next to me.
That definitely sounds like the right choice! You are going to be very surprised at how much can be achieved when you talk about issues with your provider! Good luck and let us know how it goes! Be sure to subscribe for more content! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
Hi there! I don’t really think it’s an issue of laziness. Realistically, these devices have a primary function of assisting in hearing, not streaming audio. Due to that, there are going to be physical limitations when it comes to delivering high quality streaming audio. The drivers in headphones are much larger and more robust than the drivers in a hearing aid. Therefore, the quality of streaming audio is going to suffer.
@@Ziphearing The lack of adjustment for the user is the issue on the app. I have the Nexia 9 and when I stream from VLC player it has a graphic equaliser and I can get a pretty decent sound. This should be available on the app a proper eq for streaming but there is none. The price of hearing aids are terrible, even a rip off I would say.
Terrible software application. The settings are in multiple areas. For example there is a volume and there is a left right in different places. If you set the volume at knock out your left right setting. Sometimes I can find a setting sometimes I can't and usually I'm busy trying to listen to someone and I looking like I'm playing with my phone because I can't figure out the application. Sothe top hearing aid itself doesn't have amazing sound only connect to one Bluetooth device etc. and then has bad software to control it so kind of ruins all the functions it has. I absolutely advise you not to buy this brand.
my mom complains that she can hear sentences being spoken, but not comprehend whats being said. she has a phonak audeo L90-R hearing aids purchased 2024. do you think its a programming issue that can be fixed? please advise her next steps
This is certainly something that should be discussed with her audiologist. Loss of speech intelligibility is very common with hearing loss. The audiologist should be able to discuss options with her. Thanks for watching and thanks for asking a great question!

They domes and wax guards are included from Oticon and should ship with an order from any retailer! I would love to say it is a ZipHearing perk, but that just wouldn't be true lol. Thank you for the comment and thanks for watching! Be sure to subscribe for more! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
Three hats actually. Go Orioles! Test driving the Intent for a month. $6500 from my audiologist with insurance covering 2K of that. So far, so good for a person new to hearing aids.
First of all, congrats on the new hearing aids! You certainly picked some good ones! Furthermore, good on you for looking into insurance for assistance! That was quite the savvy move. Spent 10 days with these, Phonak Audéo™ Paradise 70, turned them in & the Dr ordered the Starkey Genesis AI RT thanks to your's & other comments! I needed fall notifications, battery level indicators & a decent app, Phonak had none of these!

Because it has a CROS transmitter that works with it, meaning it'll capture sound from one side of the head and transfer it over to be heard in the other ear.
The phasing out of models is why ppl like me will start to look at other options like otc. I don’t make 100k a year anymore so I can’t spend 4-7 grand like I have with my last 2 pairs of HA’s. I like my Resounds now and shouldn’t be forced to not have hearing aids. Anyhoo I’m here looking on YT for help. My Bluetooth is working but not the hearing aid? I can stream but can no longer stream and hear people talk. Feels like I have 2 ear plugs in when not streaming which is not often but I need to be able to hear?! Any help would be greatly appreciated. In 6-7yrs I’ve had many wires go bad but never this issue.
I can certainly understand where you are coming from! HA's are not cheap, and many people do not get any sort of financial assistance from health insurance to purchase the hearing aids. I tend to think of HA's like cell phones. Every year, there is a new iPhone of some sort, with new features and new designs. However, these newly added designs and features may not be a necessity for me. My current iPhone works just fine, so maybe I skip out on the new phone and wait until the next release or even the one after that. Hearing aids, kind of, work the same way. You may not need to get the newest model if you had just purchased the previous generation! Regarding your tech issue with your HA's... That is certainly an odd set of issues. I wouldn't even know where to begin with trying to diagnose the problem. My best advice is to contact your audiologist or hearing specialist and have them take a look. They may also be able to speak to the manufacturer and get assistance from them! Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe for future content! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
That is a great question! Many hearing aids will come with some sort of "wind reduction" technology that will allow the hearing aid to reduce the amount of wind noise that the user experiences. While the tech is fantastic, it will not eliminate 100% of the wind noise. In extreme situations, there is no avoiding it. However, most of the time I am very pleased with the wind noise management provided by the devices!. Please subscribe and keep your eyes open for new videos! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
Hello I have battrie question I an using a ReSound nexus 9 demo set and one of the hearing raids will not charge more than 3/4 in this case they will not connect to blue tooth phone . My question if you know or can steer me to where I can find out is 30 hours is there bost,if they are charged every night will a memory develop shorting the use time. With new battrie technology I am lost.
If it is a demo set, there is a high chance that they have been used and charged many many many times. After many charging cycles, the internal battery will not be able to fully charge to 100%, and will eventually need to be replaced by the manufacturer and have a new battery installed. There is really no way to avoid this, its just a natural part of rechargeable batteries.
That is great to hear! Communicating one's preferences and goals with your hearing specialist is key in achieving the perfect hearing aid experience! If you could, subscribe to the channel so you don't miss out on new videos! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1

Thanks. What an informative video. It took lots of research on my own to decide on the SmartRIC 440, which I am really happy with, but I wish this video was around when I was deciding what to get. It would have clarified a lot of questions I had.
Thanks Mike. That was an excellent review. I bought my Oticon Real 2 hearing aids just before the Intent was released, but I am certainly impressed by the quality of the device. Personally for me I enjoy not having to deal with the batteries. Pop them in the charger overnight and you’re ready to go in the am. The sound quality of The Oticon is incredible. My only regret is not getting them sooner.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Oticon! Rechargeable devices are certainly my preferred battery option as well! Be sure to subscribe! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1

Do you know how they can be connected to in flight entertainment on an airplane. I've purchased AirFly bluetooth and have not had any success in connecting.
I apologize, but I don't have the remedy for your particular situation. I would recommend reaching out to Starkey customer service and seeing if they can help you out! Thank you for the question and thank you for watching, be sure to subscribe for more! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
Great detailed video. My problem. I wear glasses, putting on and taking off frequently. Tried Signia five years ago. Disaster with ric style constantly coming off when removing glasses. Which style seems best suited for glasses wearers. Thanks
Probably something in-the-ear, like Signia Silk, here's a video review by a customer of ours: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C71nwjuHwUk.html
I have the Widex SmartRIC 440 and do not experience a problem with putting on and taking off glasses, which I frequently do. For me, the trick is this. When putting on the glasses, put the glasses over the hearing aids with a downward motion. When taking them off, pull them straight forward. I have zero problem with dislodging the SmartRICs with this method. Good luck.
I have the Costco version - Phillips 9040 and know that the 9050 will be (if not already) released soon. I have the opportunity to return my 9040's and upgrade. So my question is , is there a big difference between the Oticon Intent and the previous model??
In my opinion, if someone had the Oticon Real and was looking to upgrade to the Intent, I would find it hard to recommend the upgrade. Yes, the Intent has some fantastic features that the Real does not have, but it is not a big enough leap to justify the change. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
In your opinion can a hearing aid user have success without real ear? Where I live in nyc most audiologists don’t do it. I also have sonic hearing aids and a lot of audiologists are unfamiliar with that brand.
I can say, with great confidence and personal experience, that a hearing aid user can have great success without real ear! I will be getting my first real ear measurement soon, so be sure to subscribe and see what my thoughts are! ru-vid.com?sub_confirmaton=1
