My channel is an eclectic mix of the things I like and enjoy. In doing that, I am enthusiastic about all my videos and hope you are as well. I have everything from vacation spots, to flying my quadcopter, to how to's, reviews, photography as well as off roading events in my FJ Cruiser. I hope you will share my channel and help me to grow. I would love to hear your ideas on any videos I should create and share. Thanks for reading this and for commenting, subscribing and sharing.
I need to fly fpv like I need another hole in my head. I do well to get what I get. I'll leave the fpv to the professionals and the ones who have a desire for it. Glad you liked my non fpv video.
I love my Specta Mini. Here's a super-helpful hint: when flying over bodies of water go up at least 10 yards or more above it as these drones have a tendency to get confused with the downward sensor by water and they have a tendency then to start to descend. You CAN apparently override it, but once it goes into the wet it likely isn't going to come out again. Beyond that, also find out what areas in your general locaiton might be geo-fenced, as these drones ARE programmed to not fly in geo-fenced areas. But otherwise, they are very fun and you will have some cool adventures with yours.
I rarely fly over water but when I do I never get close to it. There is no geo fencing where I am so that isn't a problem either. I've been flying quads for about 10 years or close to that now. This video and the next 2 are just me getting used to this new little quad. Hope you enjoyed it.
@@StudioKaiju I liked my Nano Plus up until the gimbal broke. I still like my Lite Plus as it puts out stellar video and pics. I still have lots of testing to do with the Specta. I hope to start some of that tomorrow. I hope I can join you in your praise of it. Do you make and share any videos? I would like to see what others are doing with it.
@@DannyFyffe I have three Specta videos up on YT as well as a few flights I've posted on my own FB page. The YT ones are the earliest, including my own "first flight" video. I tend to be a little conservative in how far I want to push the Mini, so I have not flown more than, say, half a mile or so away. I have learned to always find a reasonably recognizable launch point so I can easily identify where I am when flying distances. Recently I flew near a high-speed boat race (I did not fly OVER it as that would have been potentially problematic) as well as a small concert happening at the mouth to the Erie Canal. I should probably put those clips up here too.
@@StudioKaiju I'll look them up. As far as flying far, I haven't done so in a long time. Anymore, I get near what I want to capture, put the bird in the air and capture it and land. I will check your channel out.
@@akirasho719 No, that is a great question. My first consideration was the gimbal on my Nano Plus stopped working so I was in the market to replace it. I really want to stay away from DJI although I know it's a clone of it. Finally, the price was so tempting, that was the final thing that made me pull that trigger. I got 2 extra batteries just last week for it so I hope to start getting more flights from it. Have you gotten one or are you thinking about it?
@@DannyFyffe I am curious about the drone and I like the idea of having options, I have the Mini 2 and Nano +, I would end up mixing up controllers and batteries no matter how well labeled they were. It will be interesting to see how this pans out along with the DJI Mini 4K and whether or not Conito would clone other DJI drones in the future. I'll be curious to hear about your long-term results.
Like you said before, next time it'll be on your list. If you do it, you won't regret it. in fact, you will be cold, tired, but happy at the end of it. Glad you liked the video. I got one of the old town Valdez site too if you wanna watch it.
Beautiful as always Sir, thank you for taking the time out to reverently pay homage to America's past. Better to remember it than repeat it, but for the grace of God, if we are not careful, sadly we will repeat it! Fine job Sir!!
I'm very glad to know you appreciate these places as I do. Thanks for chiming in. These videos get few views, but I'm good with that. I put out what I enjoy and a few others. Thanks for coming along with me.
That is cool that I brought back a memory by doing something you did. I probably visited this place the first time I reckon it's been 20 years or more. So this was my return visit to see it again for the first time. I hope you stick around for the last part coming up this Wednesday.
This place is awe inspiring, what if this ends up happening again due to the people who are pushing us to remove and forget our history by destroying places like this! Thank you for taking us along before some idiot destroys it. I, for one, appreciate your time!
That is a great question. The way things have gone in this country, it will take a dramatic event in order to straighten us out. A civil war is one event. Another could be a depression that would make 1929-1941 look like a Sunday picnic for fat people. There are other events that would straighten things out too. I'm glad you liked the video. Part 2 will come out tomorrow.
We were both surprised at Iowa. Like everyone else, we thought they just grow corn and it is very boring. All is that is based on lies. Iowa is a vibrant and interesting state. Had tons of beauty and a ton of things to do. You live in a very nice place. Don't let anyone tell you any different. Thanks for watching and allowing us to enjoy your home
visited that ghost town about 20 years ago and it was a horribly rough road. We tried to visit again this past year and had to turn around and give up the road was just too dangerous in September. I have heard that the roads are easier to travel if they have been freshly graded in June… by September the weather and traffic have rutted them out badly. When we turned around, we were in a four-wheel-drive Jeep. And we passed the pick up truck going up the trail. I don’t know how a truck longer than we were could expect to make those turns! we thought it was too dangerous for our Jeep, but it would be impossible for a pickup truck so I imagine they had to turn around around also
This was taken 11 years ago. I honestly don't recall much of it. Wish I could help, but the old memory isn't that keen any longer. Hope you still liked the video.
looks great after. I see the product you dont suggest, can you add to comments what did work, as well as if your random orbital covers were plastic fibers, or wool?
All I used was the compound. To do it truly right I would probably need to compound it again, then polish it and finally wax it. I used wool on the orbital. I need to order new ones as I wore all the others out. Glad you liked the video.
I have a red Minnie Winnie as well. I watched your video where you polished this a year ago. Do you think if you put on a ceramic sealant it would not have e oxidized as bad? I see also you are on the road (in the sun) quite a bit. I’m sure this doesn’t help with the red I am currently storing mine outside so I will have same issues Thanks for the details you shared including the tools Good luck keeping Big Red….RED!!
@@parneypots It was actually more than a year ago. In fact, it will be 2 years this October IIRC. Anyway, I had another guy told me to ceramic coat it. However, you have to get it as good as you want and honestly, I think that would be near impossible. I wouldn't mind to be able to do another coat of compound, then polish then wax at least to see how long that'll last. It is a ton of very hard work. So it steals my inspiration. We live fulltime in this trailer so you are correct that it gets nothing but sunshine, storms and everything in between so it is impossible to keep it looking great. If you ever want to help me get it ceramic coated, I'd be glad to work with you. ;-) Thanks for the nice comment.
It was insane to me. Besides, there are signs as you walk up that swimming, wading, etc are all prohibited. Too many kids do this sort of thing, hit a rock under the water and either die or are crippled/paralytic the rest of their lives. But the flying was good.
Spent many evenings out on the river walk growing up. Laser light shows on the hilton, food stalls, live music. Man I miss Waco. It's been over 25 years since I've lived and been there. Maybe one day I'll make my way back.
It's good to know this 5 year old video is still being viewed and helpful. It sounds like you had a very fun childhood. Glad I could help spur some good memories,.
Absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for taking me with you, there is no way I would have been able to make it there myself. God bless you Danny, please be careful on your adventures!
I am truly honored you came along with me. I do try and be as careful and safe as I reasonably can. If you're gonna capture the best, you gotta get to the best. ;-)
I really appreciate your comment. I like when others feel like I have taken them with me. That means you got immersed in the video and it took you there. I have a LOT of Alaska videos so I hope you'll enjoy them all.
Ok, I watched Part 2 before Part 1. Part 1 has my house I lived in 2417 (house is set back close to alley & yellow now), next to 2419 that you were pointing out. I played in that house a lot as a kid, The top floor is awesome. Course, many of the wonderful trees are gone. I walked past these houses for at least 6 years. Oh the memories. While you shot the corner house of 25th & O, and turned the camera around from 26th to capture the wrap floor (Oh that house screams details, and the orange doors), well, the white house across the street that you captured was the house we stayed in during Carla. Went home just before the tornadoes roared down 23, 21, etc.
I only got to walk by them once, yet they are even a part of me. Galveston has an unfair advantage in beautiful homes. The trees also are something special. I'm sure many things have changed since you spent those 6 years walking by. As I said in my other comment, you and people like you are who these videos are intended for. You are my audience. When I get comments like yours and I don't get many, but the few I do makes all of them worth it. I have other house videos too from Post Office, Ball and other streets in that area if you haven't seen them. I know you'd love them. make sure to share them all and make your friends and family watch them too. ;-) Thanks for making my night. I appreciate you.
So completely awesome. LOVE those homes and the TREES! I used to live on Ave O between 24/25th. I remember a couple of the older huge homes there, and the one on corner of 24th & Ave O. It was still standing when I left in 1962, but not anymore. Never knew what happened to it. Than ks for the tour, loved it!
The biggest reason I make these types of videos is because of people like you who get some great memories flowing. It is worth all the effort when someone tells me about how they grew up in a town or a street and just how sweet the memories are. You make it all worthwhile.
Very few people go anywhere any more and just appreciate the architecture in a location. I, for one, appreciate you taking the time to appreciate what others have strived to accomplish by taking the extra time, energy, and funds to maintain a pleasant abode! People have forgotten to just stop and smell the roses in their everyday lives, beauty is all around us, we just have to stop and observe and appreciate it! Thank you again for sharing the treasures you have found!
