I knew a guy that pirated movies and he had the entire Redbox catalogue becasue he would rent it for a night and return it after he had the disc in a file for burning
Each redbox had a cellular internet connection. if it stored credit card data it should not have. Otherwise people could use fake and empty cards. Use some logic please, that was a dumb statement.
If I remember correctly and it’s been years since I rented a Redbox movie, but I think it would charge you up to $25 or 25 days or something like that before you just got to keep the movie.
Ok me finding out that not only did the people who made the book chicken soup for the soul later make a company named after the book they also owned red box and went bankrupt. Mind blown
I drove around for 4 hours today just to find one still working. None of the movies were for sale, so i "rented" them. While i dont plan on returning them, id be fine if the charged me the roughly $40 a disk in the future. Its a price id be willing to pay to have a piece of history
What are you talking about can’t rip Blu-ray? My PC does it just fine and mine is ancient. To be clear, I own the movies I rip, it’s just to have a digital backup.
I hate to say it, but videos like this encourage people to go out and remove Redbox kiosks, either by stealing them or by “helping” the stores that host these outdated kiosks, which are often just collecting dust and becoming an eyesore for some.
Interesting.. Although my thought is the authorities should aggressively investigate and prosecute people breaking in or committing obvious frauds against the owners of the machine. Regardless of Redbox's insolvency; the legal process and rule of law needs to be respected Those people willing to ransack a Redbox machine are essentially opportunists who would target anything they thought they could get away with - such opportunistic crimes and people who would undertake them are a menace to society.
The plastic piece at 5:15 is a stand. It came with my 1st gen iPod touch. I never used it. I sold my model to a used bookstore a few years ago. Great video and channel!
