I am so thankful to hear this clear explanation becuase I am still in the middle of this same storm. I am giving forgiveness bexause it really gives real peace ans healing. I know inside of me what God tells me but I could not put into words how should I explain it to the people around me who think I am into self denying. I just tell them that my only Proof to prove that I am in a right track with God is that I have this true peace and joy even when sometimes there are atill Moment of pain when memeories come into my mind. With your explanation ..now it is much clearer to me because I really prayed that God would give a correct wxplanation woth all These forgiveness.
I WANT to talk about the "thing", relay my feelings and get it out.👍 🤨😭😭😭 But everyone just wants to pretend it's nothing 🤦♀️ and/or regurgitate cliches/platitudes. 🙄🙄 Or just avoid me entirely. 😐 gee, thanks for the "love" (sarcasm). 🤨🤕😔 No empathy, no support. 😠 🤕 😔😔😔 Proof that we are most definitely in the last days. "It will be just like in Noah's time. Knowledge will abound, ppl running to & fro, wars & rumors, earthquakes, pestilences, signs in the heavens, etc......and all will increase like a woman's pains during childbirth. A N D the L O V E of the ppl will grow C O L D!!!" 😐 So, i don't even bother anymore. Nobody cares. But soon, very soon, I'll no longer cry for He will wipe away my tears. Thank you for this segment! You encouraged me very much! I'm on the tailend on an extremely difficult journey. I have been told in the past to protect my creative side, and I have not. I have allowed bitter people to hurt me deeply. I had forgotten that God gave me the talent and drive to learn from more seasoned creatives. Their lessons to me and my years of practice and creating should not be in vain. If what I do mirrors God, how can it not be of value? Thank you for encouraging me.
I’m trying to watch this podcast and get something from it but I am SO distracted by “like” being every other word being said! I don’t mean to be critical but it’s difficult to concentrate on what is being said.
Thank you for sharing. There was a time I couldn’t even breathe when speaking about my betrayal. I felt so destroyed. I was angry at God. But little by little I was picked up by my sisters in Christ in my recovery group, my therapist, my family, my non-Christian friends and even my husband. I can’t say that I will trust him fully again, but I not longer feel pain when speaking about it and I am so grateful to God for the healing I received. I know what I will not tolerate and that I am valuable. God gave this to me and I know now that God was with me all along. ❤❤❤

So grateful for this conversation. I was widowed at 42 and jumped into another marriage probably too quickly - and am staying way longer than I should (for some good reasons as was discussed)… but soooo appreciate this information especially on abandonment. Lots of wonderful content to pray on.
Thank you for offering to be our friend through these videos. Not only did I lose the dream of family after an affair... i married a man with two kids because I could not conceive children on my own. I also lost my best friend of forty years and her mom, which was like my second mom because they were mad at me for going back to my husband multiple times.
Having the issue of being silenced and manipulated into thinking I didn’t see what I saw or hear what I heard. Then get blamed when I start getting loud because the “men” kept trying to make me quiet. I said I wouldn’t be loud if I didn’t have to repeat myself constantly and if my words weren’t being twisted around. I’m loud because I see the manipulation and refuse to sit and take it.
A true narcissist will not listen to reason. They approach life with narcissistic actions because they have worked for them in the past. Narcissists want control and will continue to demand control until the other person finally refuses to cooperate.
I am learning to trust again its not easy, its something that i am struggling with please provide your insight and experience, having to learn to trust again
Where does one start with Forgiveness and what does it look like when you experienced such painful betrayal? This is something I'd love to get your insight on, its something that im struggling with 🙏🙏

The smear campain that happened worsened the betrayal, something i learned was that i saw who people are. Cs Lewis "if people show you who they are Believe them" its not easy the impact is significantly painful
The shock was literally and figuratively shook me, then the denial and betrayal from people close to me especially their gaslighting me was very hurtful it was the hardest experience and something i am still working through in therapy
Or when your 28 year old son comes to you and tells you he's been on estrogen for an entire year and is now a woman and has "killed that person you knew. They no longer exist and you are not allowed to say their name or have thoughts or memories of them because I have killed them and replaced them with this glorious creature before you". Yes. I quote.
Remember Absalom started off feeling betrayal from his father David because his sister being raped and David not doing anything about it afterwards before he started the campaign against his father.
My shock that felt like a bomb going off was my husband's involvement in porn and 2 following ways he acted out toward people. The final confessed revelation happened while we both had covid and I told the Lord, If he isn't going to get delivered please take him home. The Lord did just that. In talking about the slow growth betrayal; you know something is wrong, but scripture says that love believes all things and hopes all things. The impact of it has been emotionally paralyzing. His ability to fall back into something he had had as a testimony of God saving him from. I question anyone's complete deliverance now. If he could be that self deceived, I fear that I could be self deceived, like walking a tight rope. I believe the Lord has been helping me and blessing me.

Thank you so much. In 2018 After 30 years of marriage, the earthquake of betrayal disclosure erupted in years of violent aftershocks. The resulting tremors continue to this day. I thank God for His faithfulness through it all as my life rebuilds & my heart restores.
Thank you so much for sharing this. My situation is that thensigns are very subtle, just slightly flirting, tipping the toe in the water and then saying it's nothing. And I have to apologize to you all.. I have made the 2-sides statement so many times... it's a pathetic perspective.

I was dependent on the approval of my sisters and got betrayed by them. God is the One I should have been dependent on for approval. Hard lesson to learn..
Lysa, Joel, and Jim, I want to thank you for all you have done with these podcasts and videos. Lysa, our betrayal stories are almost identical. After several long-term affairs, I thought we were on the road to reconciliation with a godly counselor and support only to be completely betrayed once again . These past almost 5 years have been some of the hardest in my life, and I have gone through many tragedies, including the death of my son, and two daughters with disabilities one which resulted from an accident. I have watched many of these episodes several times and I cannot tell you how much they have blessed and helped me. I so appreciate your honest sharing as well as the wise counsel of Joel and Jim. Thankfully, with God‘s help, the support of my loving family and daughters, and the wisdom I have gained from your content. I am moving forward with divorce. That was never how I envisioned my life turning out. when I said I do I meant forever and seen how my daughters and I have so often paid very severe consequences for behavior and decisions my husband made. I would love to have y’all address that more thoroughly in the future. When we have to bear the burden and negative effects of someone else’s poor choices and actions it has caused my daughters and I to struggle with our relationship with God.
