I didn't find that scene shocking at all they were rival gangs of immigrants. Of course they would say offensive things about each other. But of course at the end of the day they're all in the same situation. I actually found the film really uplifting especially the way it concludes.
lassic, one of best coming of age movies ever... For me key scene is in the end when Richie follow Nina in the bar, Bob Dylan performing "Time they are Changing": of course Richie cant enter the bar, because for him, they are no change time: he will be in marriage with Despie( who he really doesnt love, he is in love with Nina)... Nina will be Beatles, Stones, anti-war protestant for Vietnam, different life than Richie.. Also it is obvious that Richie never saw his friend in the life: Joey leave town and go to other side of country....
I enjoyed Click. It is not a good movie and I'm not trying to pretend its good. It has a LOT of problems with cringe, offensive, nonsensical jokes and an unlikable protagonist, with a poorly thought out story and an inconsistent tone. The ending is really the only redeeming factor; everything else is pretty bad.
Paul Newman always said that Judge Bean was his favorite of all the performances he ever gave. Judge Bean himself was one of America's most beloved tyrants. The main rule that he enforced absolutely was that someone who hurt other people should have no chance whatsoever to do it asecond time. Just watched the new Netflix movie Society of the Snow, which is the same story told from different perspectives. It was incredibly emotional and moving and so graphic. I’m not squeamish but it all looked so realistic I couldn’t help but be uncomfortable. Especially knowing all this is real. After watching your review I think I’ll give Alive a chance to see how they stack up!
It’s amazing that his real life story is even more depressing than this film. He never had a big win. The director added it too soften the blow. In reality he just lost and lost. If you don’t mind the dark tone this is an excellent film. Phillip’s performance is pitch perfect. And responding to another commenter, yes Casino pit bosses are really that evil. My aunts best friend lost her house playing slots. She started on 25 cent machines and 2 years later her retirement was gone and she was in serious debt playing daily on $5 machines and getting free suites from the casino. By some MIRACLE she hit a $52,000 jackpot. The floor manager told her on her way out that they would get it all back from her. My aunt and her friends and family sat with her for 2 days to keep her from going back. She did payoff one credit card in that 48 hour period. On the third day the casino sent a limo to her house. She caved and lost all the $49,000 she had left. Never gamble in a casino. These predators know what they’re doing. Most of the people I know who became degenerate gamblers got hooked on wins of less than $100.
I really liked the movie now in present day as an adult. Its film that shows that bad times in life are temporary and sometimes you just needs to keep going knowing better days are a head.
First of all the guy had a kid with a nut job and ignored all the warning signs so he's partly to blame. Even his friends told him to be careful with her. He gets involved with much older woman with kids, that shows very poor judgement.
You didn't mention James Caan who's character in this movie is huge. The seen with Del Toro in the cafe chatting about crime and criminals basically hitting it off. Sarno shows mercy by shooting the kidnappers in the legs not killing them
You’re not the only one who thinks this movie is overrated. I’ve never been a fan of this movie and I find it to be highly overrated. Even when I was a kid I never liked it and it gets worse as I get older. If you like the movie that’s awesome and you are entitled to your opinion and I’m glad you liked it but it’s just not for me. Nemo is a spoiled brat, Marlin is an idiot, and Dory is annoying & obnoxious (Which breaks my heart because I am a fan of Ellen, but she was not given the right material. Not even Joan Rivers could make this role work). But I like the Gargoyles in Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame so what the hell do I know? I also find it to be emotionally manipulative. I understand that Marlin’s wife died but we barely got to know her and her death was rushed so I didn’t feel anything when she died. The reason why Mufassa’s death in The Lion King is so effective is because we got to know him as a character and it was built up properly and they took their time with it. I’m sorry but I think the movie has a bad message for parents and kids. It basically says “screw you parents. I’m right even though I was wrong, I still get rewarded, I get away with disobeying my parents with no consequences and I’m instantly forgiven”. I also think the whole “Let your kid grow up message” doesn’t work because Nemo is not a teenager or a young adult and he’s not mature to be let go. I also find the humor to be pretty cringeworthy. I also think the animation looks pretty dated to me. I watched the movie on VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray and I could not tell a difference. At the time it looked beautiful but it looks too fuzzy to me. But that’s just. I’m glad you liked it but it just didn’t work for me.
Suzanne get injured in the accident on the second day on the mountain her feet were hurting her. So Roberto rubbed her bare feet to make them feel better. That most of have been hard on Suzanne not knowing why her feet were hurting so bad then having them rubbed most have been a weird feeling having someone touching your feet!!!.
Ïn the Mouth of Madness" is my favorite movie and has been since I made my dad take me to see it on opening weekend. I was a Sam Neil fan and my dad liked John Carpenter because of the "Thing". Months before it released I had seen a preview trailer while at the movies and then had to wait, looking through the weekend news papers for it's release date. It's the last movie that ever frightened me. I was 14 and I actually had a hard time sleeping later that night. Which even at 14 it was very rare for a piece of media to effect me in that way. After all it's just pretend. I had a friend at school who was also looking forward to seeing it and I knew he was going to over the weekend. At school on Monday I noticed him in the hallway between classes So I snuck up behind him and over his shoulder, in his ear, with a deep growl I asked, "Do you read Sutter Cain?". He jumped about a foot off the ground turning around while starting to swing at me while I nearly died laughing hunch over holding my stomach. I watch it multiple times a year and I'm always on the look out for youtube videos discussing it. Thanks for your video man. Keep up the good work!
I find the Jenny character annoying. She's always being sarcastic and rather caustic in her speech toward Oliver. Always calling him "preppie". I guess she was smart but not very pleasant. IMO.
Watched this just before bed when i still lived in my family home... my mom found me still awake crying on the stairs drinking vodka at like 5am the next day. Couldn't sleep.. ruined me

Just bought this on blu ray disc today excited to see it even thow its a dramatic slow burn of a film so to speak from all t he reviews ive read it supposedly a really good film . So i just had to buy it

I honestly don’t understand why this movie gets a lot of hate I mean yeah it’s obvious that this film was trying to cash in on the success of jaws but I did feel like if you view the film on its own it is actually pretty good I mean the story I kinda like a blend between stuff like moby dick, king kong and again jaws I do like the characters too you can tell the two main stars of the movie are Richard Harris as captain Nolan and orca himself you can definitely see both sides of the conflict so yeah I definitely really liked orca and i personally think the film really doesn’t deserve the hate it gets
