Hi. In France we still have a lot of comic book (bandes dessinées) artists who work the traditional way. Myself, I still draw with pencil and then I ink with brush and ink. And there is still guys who still do the lettering the traditional way (Hermann is one of them).

Tegan I’m loving this series. What I would love more of is maybe some insight into your intro into comics. Steel was a hell of a series and definitely paid dividends after “the return of Superman” arc. Wish it could have been a Denys Cowan issue but I’ll take what I can get.

First of all, where do I find a copy of 80’s spellbound? Secondly, you’re treading all over my childhood with this issue of spawn. That issue is what drew me back to trying to figure out what I had missed. Greg Capullo was at his height with these issues. Keep it going Tegan. Love the recent release of “storage locker” with marvel monsters.

there are a few extant Space Ghost: C2C comics from the very late 90s, enough they could probably fill a slim trade if they ever wanted … but after the switch to the Adult Swim branding there’s nothing, no AS comics from DC at all.

Those Batman Adventures comics look fantastic. The 'ch' in Mazzucchelli is pronounced as a hard 'c'. Same as 'Zucchini'. There's a great video on this site from the FanFaire NYC 2020 where Mazzucchelli breaks down how comics function and he explains the pronunciation in the first minute.

How would you characterize Len Kaminski's work at Marvel overall? He seems to pop all over the place and have had a pretty big, but anonymous influence on Marve's stable of characters.
@whenwillthehurtingstop
@whenwillthehurtingstop Месяц назад
@@andrewlorelli3929 good question! one that I’ve barely even begun to formulate an answer to … looking at his work recently it struck me that he was, as you say, all over the place, and yet I struggle to pin down an identity to his stories … maybe if I do a reread that might stick out, but my memory is that he didn’t have a strong writerly voice so much as have a way with a high concept. A competent writer at a time when just that competence was a prized skill.

Your thoughts on Claremont have me wondering. What would it take to get your take on Claremont's bonkers contribution to the Alien Vs. Predator world with "Deadliest of the Species"? That Dark Horse era of Alien and Predator comics is such a fascinating view into the changing comics industry from the late 80s all the way into the late 90s and I've always appreciated whenever you touch on it.

TM-Semic comics were a breath of freedom in post-communist Poland. We, as a nation, were just getting used to freedom with all its advantages and disadvantages. An American comic book in Polish for young readers was a definite must-have. Now these comics are gems on the collector's market, even for Poles. I'm happy to see that someone from outside Poland has them and in good condition. :)
