I feel like the plot of this movie would be that the blue man works for a villainous organization tasked with overcoming the rest of mankind using an array of different alien-ish villains. Maybe the beginning is him capturing the aspiring superhero and holding her captive with the intent of bringing her onto their side. He soon begins to catch feelings for the girl, but fights them for a while. Mid-way through the movie he begins to get second thoughts about overtaking humanity as he indulges in humanity’s many joys and wonders. Behind the scenes, boss man is working to find the woman in order to destroy her. He begins to grow suspicious of blue-boy, so he enters the office/lair of the blueboy and discovers pictures of him and the woman having fun with captions of how wonderful “earthly joys” are compared to his home planet. Going back to Blueboy, He then remembers his mission, and begins to emotionally distance himself from everything. The woman realizes this and confronts him about it, attempting to change his mind. This leads the two into an argument that flares up and creates tension among the two. The boss, enraged, traces the blue-boy’s location using one of his many drones around the world in order to find him. He discovers him with the woman during their argument. From here, boss man manages to capture the woman as she storms off from the argument. Blue-boy cowardly runs off, ditching her. He then sits in an alleyway, untraced by the drones. He feels sad, mourning the woman and the fate he thinks she’s befallen. He then meets some friends near the full middle of the movie. After a little bit of convincing, the blue-boy gains the confidence to confront boss man. Blue-boy manages to reverse his tracker in order to pinpoint boss man and break into the office building. From there, he comes face-to-face with boss man where they argue about the morality of boss man’s goals. This sprawls into a full-on fight with boss man having an array of goons ready to subdue and kill blue-boy. Blue-boy, gaining some newfound confidence and charisma, manages to overtake the goons and free the woman. From there, the woman, blue-boy, and his friends manage to subdue boss man and put an end to his plans. Boss man gets sent back to the mother world and peace is restored to humanity. We also get to see a glimpse into the normal life of blue-boy and the woman. With them co-founding an organization to oversee and protect humankind for the foreseeable future. EDIT: This is assuming the integrity of the film is more towards a Disney Pixar type of deal. I assume by the designs that’s what it is intended to be.
So, let me get this straight... U had the chance to study animation. U had the chance to design your very own characters. And U decided to make a poor copy of Elastigirl and Megamind on steroids?
Does anybody else realize where this is from?? This is definitely a rip off of Dr horrible's Sing-Along blog. "Laundry day See you there Under things Tumbling Wanna say Love your hair Here I go Mumbling"
when will animators stop trying to emulate the "disney principles" and just make realistic animations without this needless exaggeration? Zero artistry, 1000% stretching and bobbing.....
You know these principles were even applied in transformers movies for "realistic autobots", its clear that animators wont stop using them because they just work. But i agree, it słowly starts too look like there is only one way of doing it and it becomes kind of dull and repetitive
i suppose its just this schools teaching style. the students still learn the fundamentals of animation which is the most important part. i dont think this is supposed to be something meant for audience consumption but rather as a learning/teaching exercise.
It'll end up looking awfully lifeless then. While, indeed, in real life, we don't exactly exaggerate our actions, we do have very fluid movements and various muscles, bones and our skin playing a role in movement too. A 3D model doesn't have that. And if you do try without "the needless exaggeration aka stretching and bobbing", it looks hella stiff and lifeless. Besides, cinema isn't meant to be a perfect replica of real life. It's what the artist wants to show you. And the artist wants to show you every single emotion so that you have the best experience watching an animated film. If you don't like it, y'know, you could just not watch it. Bad publicity is still publicity. So, yeah.
