G'day, Al and Furz here. We are two weekend warriors - installing, riding and testing all the parts that will get us out and riding a little easier, or for a little longer. This is Hard UNduro because we are as UNduro as it gets. We have both been riding dirt bikes for over 20 years and have been tinkering with them throughout. We are not pro riders, nor mechanics. This channel is our attempt to provide videos that we have searched for ourselves, including installing aftermarket parts, reviewing and testing some of our favourite additions to dirt bikes, and in large part our journey with a 2024 Beta Xtrainer 300. If you are like us, then come along for the ride and we hope you learn something, or at least you come and take the piss out of us in the comments. We hope you too get out on your 'mental health machines' as often as we do!
Hey guys I've been searching for a low bar like you mentioned 27mm do you have a link or shop you got them from ? Live over on the Sunshine Coast and no one seems to stock them that low Cheers for any help
Hi Mate. Astra have good low bars but hard to find. Mine is the pro taper steering damper low (or close to that name) o actually think it may be more around 32.
If you get a chance give a R&Duro EZ clutch a go. Way better engagement feel than the clake. It’s a simpler mechanical design and very adjustable. It uses the standard Brembo hydraulics so is a nice simple unit.
Thanks..I have seen them online but sadly never seen any on any bikes around here. I would love to have a go to see what the difference is like. Cheers.
It will depend on what model and yes your bike is. The 25 husky has a different bolt size to the 24 for example. In the description we added a link to the product page. It can be a bit confusing but they are excellent with selling out. What bike do you want it for? Thanks.
@@HardUNduro thank you for the quick reply. But i really appreciate if you can help me here, my bike is a 2025 Husqvarna TE-300 as yours I believe, but i am having some difficulty selecting the correct part, if you could send the reference part you have used, it would help!
Mine has a 15mm pivot bolt bolt. But I would 100% measure yours to check, you never know if they mixed them up or Australia batches may differ from US etc. Hope this helps.
Mine has the same 15mm bolt, I already measured it, 100% positive it’s the same as yours, that’s why I would appreciate your help if you can just give your part number. Obviously it’s my responsibility.
Join us for a chat about 10 hours with the TE 300 followed by a very challenging ride. Let us know if you have any questions about the bike, or the setup!
im going to local Husqvarna dealership now (Matt Jones) and see what the go is on what I was told last week ($70k this fortnight on 40th anniversary bikes so REALLY bad timing for the 300 but money isn't an issue sort of lol)
Saw one at dealership and damn im short. Wife grounds and rubds it in. Im worried about the road kms as im in Melton so I need to travel and no trailer for towing
I tried the xtrainer around my private north eastern woods loop I didn’t even make it to the 2nd section that thing nose dives hard for me I’m around 160/71kg?(not a natural metric system guy). The rider triangle is wrong on the xtrainer too, I also ride my good buddy’s 200rr with revolved Sachs fork and I can ride really fast through heavy rock gardens or fast single track on that no issue. The RR series geometry is setup really well, instantly putts you in correct attack position. I wouldn’t recommend the xtrainer for anyone who is over 5’7 and 140/68kg. It’s truly abysmal that they don’t putt compression base valve in those forks it wouldn’t cost them that much more at all.
Yea the standard suspension is not good at all. We did the DFX kit all round and it transformed the bike. Excellent slow technical trail bike once set-up right tho. Cheers 👍
Well there goes the idea of using for a dual sport coming up this fall and I don’t want to get a larger tank I love the feel of the stock tank Have to use the trusty 97 xr650l with 30k miles 😁
Yet to ride one of the new TBI KTM breed bikes but I love the feeling sitting on the Husky TE300 over the GasGas EC300 and the KTM EXC300. I been running TBI on my 21 GasGas EC300 since it was 10 hours old and love it. Thanks for reviewing the new 2025 model for us all.
Cheers your welcome. Totally agree, the TE feels a lot more comfortable in our opinion. Definately jump on a new 25 and see how it compares. So far loving it. Thanks for watching. 💪🙏🙏
My mate leant me his spare KTM 300 for weekend of enduro. I’d never ridden a dirt bike before in my life. I managed to just about keep up with them as a rank amateur. I appreciate all the advice you guys offer, but it’s really not that serious. If you can ride a bike, you can ride any bike. Just get whatever bike you like and go and enjoy yourself.
@@HardUNduro exactly. I just re-read my message and I don’t feel like I made my point well. But you got it. Basically all I’m trying to say is any bike that gets you out on the trails and enjoying yourself is good enough.
Personally I haven't ridden the 200, I think it would have its place on a track or similar. I think for hard enduro I would choose the xtrrainer for the 300cc lug and smaller frame. Cheers
@@HardUNduro Thanks. I like both. Unfortunately the dealer where I live only has the 200 in stock. I will say I'm slightly concerned about the xtrainer dimensions and suspension given that I'm a larger rider in height and weight.
Same ol sheeit different year. Pay 13k for a bike ya gotta dump another 1200 on for a TSP kit and reflash to get it to run correctly. Gimme a carbureted Sherco any day of the week. Easy to jet, comes with all brembo as well but also comes with KYB, fan kit, gnarly pipe, solid exhaust, Axp skid plate. Will run like a top for years and you don’t have all the FI garbage to deal either.
A would touch either there always falling apart brake are crap they sell a lot in the uk as well and then u see them online shortly after for sale or all the videos of people out on them have problems
The husky suspension overall is far superior but the xtrainer in the slow is actually really good and very plush. The xtrainer size is definately a benefit for hard enduro because it feels very light and smaller. But... the new tbi engine is amazing now so it would really be a very personal preference.
Thank you for review, now an owner of TE250 carburetor version, plan to order te300 2025 this fall, look like a good bike. Now riding 13/52 sprockets, but wanna try 13/48
@@HardUNduro Yes, in my plans to change 13/52 for 13/47, I have a race on Saturday, considering the terrain (wet forest, quarries and slopes with loose sand) 13/52 is what I need - it climbs steep slopes well (my weight is 100 kg) - but after it I plan to change the rear sprocket to a smaller size - otherwise there is a jerk from 1st to 3rd gear, and no speed. By the way, in our local Husky owners' chat there is an opinion that the 2024 version is very raw (there are problems with the starter, the start button works unstable) - so hopes for 2025, and that the manufacturer has fixed everything. That's why I watched your video carefully and will continue watching the channel)
Thanks for confirming the hight of the ktm. I’m going the husky. I would go the Beta but I’m certain I’m an alpha. 😜 Well I’m 5”8 so I’m a pocket sized alpha.
I was looking for a vid on how they perform. This not that vid. That said love your guys self depreciating attitude. Looks like you are helping heaps of guys. Keep up the good work 😊. Also watch Rich Larsen. Helped me no end.

Suspension is a must to be tuned to your weight and riding conditions. I have a 2024 300exc and Mpe suspension dialed mine in and its a different bike. Tsp- Erm tuning module also a must to tune the motor. Makes the bike lug great and puts the power to the ground. Happy Riding 🤙
@HardUNduro I'm 86kg and 6'2. So they replaced the springs and revalved the front and rear to suit my riding gear weight. I ride trails and enduro stuff, and it handles awesome. So easy to adjust the settings while out on a ride, which is a plus 👌

Nice, thanks Shane. It's a great point and something it takes a lot of us a long time to learn how valuable having a bike tuned for your weight is. We always review them as standard settings because so many riders keep their bikes that way but try to keep highlighting how valuable some tuning can be!
Haven't ridden the TE300i only the new 2025 TE300. Having said that I think Al prefers the Xtrainer and Furz is loving the early stages of the 25 husky (pending some mods). Xtrainer is an awesome beast tho. Cheers
