Thank you, Alicia! 💕 When I attended the conference, I was initially interested in learning about bone marrow transplants, but finding out that chemotherapy is involved made me reconsider. Instead, I’m planning to do an extended juice and fruit fast, along with herbal treatments. I truly believe that sickle cell can heal naturally-I just need to give it my all, which I haven’t done yet. I’m excited to begin this journey!
@@MercedesLynn I love you too sis thank you! I’m trying to step away this October but I’ll be back in action social media content creation wise and business wise in November
@@MercedesLynn I hope you feel better! I really want to do plant based but I have been struggling to let go of chicken and cheese (I don’t eat pork and beef or any other meats tbh anymore) mostly just chicken and fish but it’s hard! How did you do it? Like tofu is okay just not flavorful like chicken and I tried making walnut meat but girl I’m just highkey failing at this and I tried doing cold turkey just quitting everything out at once but that didn’t last long lol 😂 smh 🤦🏾♀️ I really commend you and so inspired by your decision to go plant based and then raw vegan
Binging your videos! We have so much in common. I have SS and am on a plant based diet. It’s interesting you’ve discovered oil causes you to crisis. I read something years ago advocating low sodium and oil free for sickle cell and was against it because I use oil consistently. I don’t fry in oil, but rather add it in afterwards.
How frequent u get crisis? I m also a sickle cell Disease patient and i made some change in my diet and my frequency of sickle cell crisis is now being reduced...
Hi fellow warrior! 🩸👋🏽 I love hearing that your crises have reduced due to your dietary changes-managing Sickle Cell well comes down to those choices. Thank you for sharing your good news. As for me, I don’t sickle very often. For me, sickling usually happens when I slip up with my diet, which often occurs when my mental health has been compromised. If I consume oily or processed foods, it triggers my body and leads to a crisis. When that happens, I reflect on why I made certain food choices so I can move forward living as pain-free as possible. Other times, I’ve eaten foods I thought were safe but weren’t and as a result lead to a crisis. This often happens when I eat at restaurants and don’t know exactly what’s in the food. I’ve had stretches where I went months without sickling and other times when I sickled frequently due to emotional pain, which led to emotional eating and, ultimately, bad crises. Recently, I’ve gone about six weeks with only a few minor crises. Thank you for being here, take care! 🙏🏽💪🏽😁
Hey dear Get well soon and take care of yourself ❤ Can u tell me what medication u take for sickle cell on daily basis As i m taking hydroxyurea and folvite on daily basis Plz tell me abt ur medication
@@Koh_Exit17 its hard cause this has been the worst yellow experience ever …I want to add it’s not mostly from sickle cell this new liver disease I’ve been experiencing the past few moths is wild!
I used to struggle with yellow eyes, just like u said i always want to cover my eyes with sunglasses. I started drinking a lot of water 2liters a day with a little of lemon inside. I was able to overcome the yellow colour.
I’m so happy you found a way to overcome, and thank you for sharing! We all deserve to be seen, feel good about ourselves, and never hide our beautiful faces (jaundice or not). I agree-staying hydrated is key. Peace and blessings to you! 🙏🏽😊🫶🏽
Thank you for being brave to share. My nephew has sickle cell and this helps me to understand what he sees when he looks at himself. He doesn't like to talk about it but I can see and feel his energy. Your very beautiful woman and I will keep you in my prayers ❤
Hi Shantal! I think it’s beautiful that you understand how this affects your nephew-support in this area with sickle cell is so important. When I was younger, I went to daycare with my siblings, and a boy called me "cat eyes." That was the moment I realized something was “wrong” with my appearance, and it stuck with me for a long time. But my sister and brother weren’t having it-they set the boy straight right away. Although I felt some shame, I also felt protected and reassured because they let me know it was okay-I was still good enough. Long story, but I’m so grateful to them for that support. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. I’ll keep you and your nephew in mine as well. Sending love 💖🙏🏽🩸
lol that makes sense. Thank you for sharing the correct technique with me! 😊✨Side note: Tweety Bird was my favorite character back in the day-the nostalgia!
Hey Robin, my heart is with you my friend. ❤️ I completely understand how being jaundice can affect your confidence and constantly remind you of your health. It can feel very heavy, but when you look in the mirror, let yourself cry if you need to, and remember to love yourself through it as best as you can. You’ve been such an inspiration to me with your openness about managing sickle cell and your awesome apparel line. I love you so much. 🙏🏽🤞🏽💪🏽🩸 Breathe and keep going; we’re doing the best we can.
Thank you sis, I love you so much! I appreciate you for supporting me in life and with SC since I was a little girl. We couldn’t get enough of Barney, lol. ❤️🙏🏽🩸💪🏽
I’m happy to hear you’re well! 😌 Also, thank you for the encouragement as far as school goes. I love how this anatomy class is teaching me so much about the human body. 📚💯💪🏽
@@MercedesLynn I love to hear this 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 anatomy, and physiology to me are some of the best subjects. The more you learn about the body the easier to inner-stand oneself. Let’s gooo❗️❗️❗️ I’m definitely interested in hearing more about the intricacies You learn about the body each one teach one plus if you can teach /explain the anatomy in its simplest form then you’ve grasp/retained the knowledge, so please share definitely interested your journey is inspiring.🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💯
Hi, Nenye, or shall I say fellow warrior! 🩸❤️💪🏽 Happy early birthday! 🥳 Aging with sickle cell is beautiful. Thank you for showing love; I’m truly grateful you’re here. You’re in my prayers-sending big hugs!
