When they planned Foster City they forgot to put in a main street or downtown shopping village. It's all just bland strip malls. This is one of the most soulless, cut and paste, car dependant, and insipid suburbs in the Bay Area. At least there's some water, I guess.
I was born and raised here. I’m 54. Seen a lot of change. When I was a boy I saw President Ford parade down Main Street. Make sure to visit Emil Villas (now The Original Hickry Pit) I worked there for about 18 years from 17 years old until 35. I NEVER got sick f the wonderful food. And unique atmosphere. Also if Mexican Food is your thing (or even if it isn’t) visit La Fogatta. Yummy.
We live near there and every time we see a really entitled driver in our town that just cuts in front of people with no blinker, like there is no other car on the road but them, we say they are must be from Walnut Creek. We try to avoid that area unless we really need to go there, just because of the bad drivers. Some of the people over there are just so rich they don’t care about damage to their cars or other peoples lives.
Sorry to hear, that you had a bad experience in Walnut Creek. I drive a lot and, unfortunately, this may happen anywhere, but more often in bigger cities.
