I assume that this is because he’s a kid, notice how the representation of his “love interest“ has both male and female voice indicating that he himself does not know how he swings yet. Even though I wouldn’t dispute the fact that it does indeed have aroace vibes, keep in mind, he’s still a kid. Not even I conceived the idea of love when I was a kid, was practically scared of having a girlfriend because “EW, GIRLS, YUCKY KOODIES! I DON’T LIKE ‘EM, AUGH!“ and yet today I am fully bisexual and proud. Just give him time to figure it out, perhaps he will end up being aroace anyway, I wouldn’t be against the idea.
