Tolulene Pictures started with the Movie Makers Club, founded by Mark Alphonso, in Newbury Park High School. Alphonso was President of the club and his VP, Russell Baade, soon joined him to fully develop Tolulene Pictures. The name is inspired by the compound, C6H2(NO2)3CH3, commonly known as TNT or Trinitrotoluene. The mysterious "L" inserted will always remain.
Tolulene Pictures has been a major contributor to NPHS's TV program, and developed one of NPHS's first feature film: James Bond Bloodshot. From 2008-2011, Tolulene's core members gathered to assemble the youtube TV series "Sixes and Saviours." This was Tolulene's first usage of visual effects. In 2015, Tolulene filmed a short trailer for "Elementia, Vigilante's in the Dark."
Tolulene will continue to document the travel's of Mark Alphonso, and create productions as members gather from time to time.
