This showed up randomly in my feed. Many of us know your pain. Even losing an old one who has lived a full life is hard but more bearable. Ten times worse when it's unexpected. Time makes the pain easier to bear, but there's always that hole in your heart from the piece they take with them.
Ah, so sorry for your loss. You did God's best and man can do no more; we must accept that your friend left knowing he was respected and loved. It doesn't make us feel better, this is a place you have to walk alone..
I’m so sorry. I’ve had to bury 6 horses. It’s not easy. It’s good that it was fast. I feel sorry for the others. They do feel the loss. You are all in my prayers. 🙏🏻🐴🙏🏻🌈🙏🏻
Thank you for the description and the quickness. I had one died of a heart attack and never knew for sure how long he suffered. You have given me some peace. Wishing you blessing of the same.
if your interested in hand tame birds you can try the same techniqueIi do with my pigeons. Just make sure you reserve feed quanitiy so they WANT the feed quite a lot in the mornings; all you have to do from that point on if offer handfulls of food but only from your hands initially (say first 5 mins of choice on the best bits). I probably hand tame 20-50 birds each year as a laugh for my little neice. Note: This works on chickens as well just not broody chickens; one of our buff bantam's (cant remember her exact breed) was named kitty and you could call her in the morning while tapping your shoulder and she would fly up and ride you like a parrot xD man I loved that bird.
Never can tell what a pullet is gonna drop. Small to start for sure but they might lay a double of even a triple yoke. Maybe a small egg or may be huge. They get their gears lined up soon enough. Orpingtons are pretty solid layers once they get it together. A broody hen added another dozen to the coop and couple of months ago, was just thinking they'll be laying pretty soon. Haven't even taken a head count on pullets and roosters. Heavy on the pullet side it looks like though.
Easter Egger has laid several double yolks. The Orpingtons have been very consistent. I guess the heritage breeds are probably a little more predictable than cross hens.
I used plywood for the floor since we were painting it. Regular latex on the inside. I've used that for different animal shelters and never had an issue.
Great looking coop, very nicely planned and executed. Of course having an aircraft hangar to work in and a forklift to haul it around after are game changers. Nice job.
Oooooh!! I so need some of these little dudes. My herd are being tormented right now, never seen the horse flies this bad before, in 30+ years of horses! I’ve tried everything, my horses are miserable and so am I. We have literally no chance, of anything fun, it’s like we’re all just in survival mode right now. 😖
@@chumucklafarm We really appreciate your positive feedback. That means a lot to us. Would it be okay for us to repost this on our social media platforms? 😊

So good to see Donkey 😂! The trust that horse has with you is genuinely so amazing, you could tell he knew you were just helping. And he does seem to be friends with those goats 😂. Thanks so much for taking good care of him ❤
For what it's worth, on another YT channel, the vet surrounded an open wound with Swat ointment, then coated the entire area with cornstarch. She said cornstarch wouldn't keep air from the wound, but flies won't lay eggs in cornstarch.
Let me save you time and money, get yourself a automatic stainless steel animal waterer, and if you're looking for a easy clean attachment, I have a Diy easy clean animal waterer attachment video, I never water my chickens.
Seems like there's always something on the to-do list, but making progress one step at a time! Can't believe Aztec's gas is causing such chaos - gotta love homestead life!
Wow, using the auger to maneuver those stubborn posts out of the ground is pure genius! As a fellow homesteader, I can relate to the challenges of dealing with fence posts, especially those set in concrete. It's always inspiring to see innovative solutions to common farm problems. Plus, the part about replacing the tack room floor with a moisture barrier and cedar plank flooring is a great tip. Moisture management in barns is such a crucial aspect that often gets overlooked. Can't wait to see how it all turns out! Keep up the fantastic work!
I've got to say, the pallet forks are an absolute game-changer! As a fellow homesteader, I can totally relate to the struggle of moving heavy stuff around. The way you demonstrated using them for everything from moving hay bales to clearing dead brush and even fencing tasks was super insightful. It's impressive how versatile and essential this tool has become for your day-to-day work.
