Hie Thank you for the video. I am going to take up their HR Transformation course in Aug. I already have 10 years experience back in India but now in Canada and wanted to add to my HR role. Do you think its worth the certificate?
Thanks for posting this Jeremy! This is SO helpful for someone who is seriously considering this program! I wish there were detailed videos like this online for all of the programs I’m looking into!
Hi brother, I have been following your DBA journey and it's very inspiring. I would like to start the DBA program at Bellevue University. Do you know anyone I could contact from the DBA office?
Hello - I really look forward to your videos. I’m currently in the DBA program. I’m in year 1, term 2. I’m taking Global Leadership right now. I really like the format as well, especially the 2 week breaks - the breaks are much needed to recharge after running a marathon for 10 weeks. The program is challenging, but doable. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Hi brother, hope all is well. Ive been following you since I was mid way through my bachelors in 2020. Just this past week I walked the stage in AZ for my maters. You gave me the push to keep going. Thank you!
Hello. I'm just starting to run down your RU-vid rabbit hole and just wanted to say Thank You. I'm looking into doing my PhD in Human Capital Management at Bellevue. I watched one of your videos on your Masters there and now watching a couple of your doctoral ones. I love the topics, just not sure if I like all asynchronous learning. I'm between BU, or looking at 2 Ed.D programs at Univ. Of Cumberlands and Penn State. But BU definitely seems to align more with my future goals. (It looked like you enjoyed the Human Capital Management part.) Anyway, thanks again.
It takes sooo much motivation to get through either method but synchronous keeps you honest and on your toes since you are expected to sign in and participate in class. best of luck either way! Best of luck!
Thank you for this video.. I was nervous about this school since I’ve never heard of it before. But my employer did tuition reimbursement for the school.
Bellevue Alumni here ☺️; I obtained my BS in Behavioral Science and my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue. Loved the time I was there as a student. Thank you for sharing your experience and journey; you are not alone 🙏. We know what caused us to embark on our journey but we easily lose our motivation along the way during rough patches. You can do this 🙏🥳. Take it one day at a time, one assignment at a time. I am now working on my doctorate in psychology at UAGC. We are on this journey together 🥳🙏
Thank you for the words of encouragement! Best of luck in your studies and the positive impact you will have on the world! We are in this journey together!
Hello, I have posted other videos in my channel about my progress. In general the program is structured, moves quickly, is a lot of information... all to be expected at this level. I am 2/3 done and I am glad I made the choice. It is a mental workout so ensure you have a plan in place for a support system and ways to disconnect and be human in between studies. Good luck.
Very interesting. I've recently discovered this type of psychology and I'm fascinated! I find it quite interesting and frustrating at the same time that with me working in the field of education, this type of degree is not more widely used since we are in the field of human services. Being a school principal, I have often found the issue in relation to the field of education has a lot to do with people to people engagement and people to daily activity engagement. Alignment is at a all-time low and I am highly interested in studying the subject as a way to uniquely transform my environment.
It is a very interesting way to peel back layers of "why people do things at work or in organizations." My perspective on people shifted after going through the program I went through. As an HR professional I am more willing to pushback on tactics/operations of getting something done to ensure the employee/person experience is priority. If you have the capacity to study IO Psych I say go for it.
There is NOT a free option of self-publishing, it is a service you pay for. Expect to pay a less than $3k but I would ensure you have a solid marketing plan to get a return on your investment.
Hi! I loved your video. I graduated with my masters of science in Industrial Organizational Psychology in November of 2023. I am 26 years old and I honestly do not have any hands on "administrative" experience in the area. I have been struggling so much to find a job, and I have applied everywhere and in any area of IO Psych. If you could please make any recommendations Id greatly appreciate it! Thank you so much
Hi, apologies I have been deep in my studies for a program I am in. Two things I would focus on is volunteering and networking. Through volunteering you can get experience and networking, you can have more doors open to you. Also, look for internships or summer leadership development programs. Fortune 500 companies usually offer a program over the summer that sometimes turn into full-time jobs. Also, considering using organized groups like local chapters of SHRM and/or LinkedIn groups. Keep going you just, even if you get 99 no's you just need 1 yes.
Disney offers internships. Sometimes if you can get your foot in the door, learn the business, and network into HR that may help you even better: jobs.disneycareers.com/search-jobs?acm=ALL&alrpm=ALL&ascf=[%7B%22key%22:%22is_manager%22,%22value%22:%22Disney+Internships%22%7D]
Fellow therapists, I-O undergrad and research labels but love how you pursuit your curiosity across multiple degrees. I know your amazing at what you do 👏🏾
Thank you very much for taking the time to make and post this. I know it is a few years old, but it was helpful for my upcoming trip to the resort to better set expectations. ~ Maxine
Can a BBA lean on this field? I'm currently studying administration but since I love psychology too this carrer path seems right! Ps: loved the HR vs I/O explanation!!
I believe anything business related can lean into this field. I also think it's important to take a rotation in the business and then back into HR so you can feel what other employees feel when certain decision are made. It has helped me become a better HR professional and establish more credibility with my clients.
I greatly appreciate your insight on your experience going through the program. The countdown is on for me. March 11th, I begin. I’m ready for this journey. Keep the videos coming. They are very helpful. You got this! Keep going. ❤
No, it is not the same. UA and Global Campus are not the same school but affiliated just like Nike and Converse. If you want graduate from UA you would not take a program from Global Campus and vice versa. I am not sure how any programs for HR at UA work, only Global Campus. Hope this makes sense.
Your vids are VERY helpful! I’m starting the program on March 11th. Your insight about the DBA program is much appreciated and is preparing me for my journey. Thank you!
Hi there, I am not familiar with their psychology program but I believe it is aligned with CACREP which puts its stamp of approval on quality programs. I would compare this program to others that have received similar stamps of approval from third parties. Lastly, make sure your the program will transfer to any other schools you intend to go to, help with your end goal, and any licensure requirements if that is your end goal. Hope this helps.
Hi Jeremy, thank you for your insightful videos! Please keep them coming. I'm currently working on my M.S. in HRM, but already looking into Ph.D. programs, as I would like to teach classes at university level later on. The Ph.D. in Human Capital Management at Bellevue interests me - do you know if these programs can be completed part time? It seems your program is a cohort, full-time program? Thanks!
Hi there, good luck! Maybe you can look at industrial and organizational psychology as a PhD program as well (Not at Bellevue sadly), it's so fun and you will differentiate yourself in HR. To my knowledge, both programs are cohort format which means you have a set schedule and cannot adjust it. You can expect to spend 20 hours per class, at least. Besides teaching, why do you want to get a PhD?
I think that all the time.. when studying for the bar exam. I just think is it worth it? Will it be worth getting my law license. Going to law school was a lot. Sometimes I think was it worth. I have a lot of debt, low pay, and struggling. I thought life would be different. I just don’t know sometimes. I really don’t know how being a licensed attorney will change my life. Hopefully for the better and more doors will open. I just have low spirits most days.
I hear you! During the journey it can be so challenging to push through. Maybe this is an opportunity to reflect inward to ask yourself (if you have not done so already) what do you truly want? What would you be excited to get up doing every day? Is there a way to leverage what you have already accomplished with law school to work towards what you would be really excited about doing every day? Grounding exercises and meditation have helped me overcome depression/anxiety in low points of my life. What we know is that you are capable of doing really good things.. law school is nothing to shrug at... take some more time to reflect on your internal happiness and make the best decision for you! Glad we connected, please stay in touch.
Also, don't forget to network with people who make decision. Approach it as you wanting to learn from them or exchange ideas/approaches on work they are doing.
It doesn’t use all of the content from my degrees but I do use the mental muscles I developed from learning the content. I hope that makes sense? I learned content but how I retrieved the content, use the content, and had conversations about the content is a formula that I use when I am asked to do something that I have never experienced. I use my MS in I/O Psychology the most and I work in HR… my DBA that I am getting will help strengthen those muscles by far. Let me know if this is clear.
@@thesagecc Yes that does! I have been watching your videos for quite a while ever since I saw a video you had about I/O psych from bellevue. I just want to say I do appreciate all of the videos you make regarding your college experiences. They are very helpful for those of us looking at the same type of college/degrees.
I sincerely appreciate your videos about this DBA program. I am starting this program on March 11, 2024. I'm really looking forward to my journey. Your insight on the DBA program is very helpful and is preparing me for what is to come. Keep the videos coming!
I JUST FINISHED MY MASTERS DEGREE AT UAGC!! I received my last grade for PSY699! 😭. I kept coming back to your channel every time I wanted to quit but this channel kept me going. Thank you 🙏🏽
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!! If you don’t already, network with people and share you accomplishments and how you can help with your degree! You may get 99 nos but you just need 1 yes! Are you going back for more or done?
@@thesageccI believe at the moment I am done. I have no gas left in the tank. When I walk the stage, I will try to network as I do not know where to start currently.
Hi! I'm just watching your video and wanted to know if after this time, the eCornell certifications you took really made a difference? As you, I'm trying to hook up in HR, so that's why I'm interested in your current situation :) thanks!
Hi! The certifications got some hiring managers attention and made them curious enough to interview me. I was able to know what experiences in my non-HR roles to look for or create to give me scenarios to speak to when I did get an interview by using the certifications content real-time. Currently in HR as an HRBP and I believe networking and interviewing well and all education including the certifications made me successfully in getting into HR. Without the certifications, I may not have known what to look for.
Hiii thanks for the video and i really appreciate it alot, do you have any updates on the roles you have applied for with the certifications ? Please and ty
The certifications made it easy to connect what I was taught to experiences I had from non-hr roles. The certifications will get the attention but your networking and interviewing is ultimately what it will come to. I am in HR now and I attribute that mainly to networking/interviewing well but the certifications point out things that I wouldn’t know to look for as a non-hr person to then create scenarios I can speak to.
HI - I just want to clarify that I went to the University of Arizona Global Campus not Arizona State University (Online). They are two separates schools but still connected. UAGC offers a grant combined with tuition assistance from certain employers. Your benefits or tuition assistance website at your employer would have details; that’s how I found this grant to go at no cost. I just submitted my tuition assistance as I would any others school and there balance was taken care of. Hope this helps.
