This process is only intended to take the shiny glaze off of the rotor, so that your brake pads do not squeak. It is not intended to straighten a warped rotor, but again to takeoff the shininess. But your question would be yes, you can just please be very careful to not get your fingers jammed against the rotor housing. Yes you can

Those may not be his exact words but what he was saying is that you have aftermarket brake pads, (lifetime warranty) that do more harm than good to your vehicle. Imagine your metal brake rotor spinning and you’re trying to slow it down with two rocks squeezing the metal rotor. The rocks are scratching and damaging your rotor versus too soft erasers squeezing up against your metal rotor. When it comes to brake pads. I only use oem/factory.

I understand and will be doing everything described in this video. But, could you explain why putting the screwdriver in between the fins of the rotor would not cause major damage once you press the accelerator? Thanks.
@james66872
@james66872 2 года назад
The Honda Odyssey does not have a locking differential. Let’s take the screwdriver out of the equation, both wheels are spinning in the air, I could walk to either the left or to the right rotor and stop it with my hand and the other wheel would keep spinning. I could let go and then that wheel would start spinning the same speed as the other then walk over to the other side and stop it. The screwdrivers manipulating the system so that I can apply pressure to the wheel that spinning with the sandpaper. Note that is the wrong sandpaper and I do need to make another video with a different car. My Subaru all-wheel-drive would be a great video but may be a little too technical. Noted from an earlier comment mentioned that I did not see anything about opening the brake calipers so that the brake pads are not rubbing up against the rotor while deglazing the rotor. But that also was done with the flat head screwdriver in between the caliper and the rotor just pray back on it a little bit and open the caliper so that the pads are not rubbing against the rotors. Please be careful while doing this
@Shamisen36
@Shamisen36 2 года назад
@@james66872 After reading your comment I did some research on the different differential and I get it now. Finding out what type of differential I have is the key. I also better understand the part where you mentioned the opening of the brake calipers as well. This video helped a lot and is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Mr Conker is right. A flapper disc at an angle across not with the circle will break the glaze and take out imperfections enough to get a budget minded person along. The brake pads will confirm.

I'm sure he's trying to keep the car cool. It's probably an improper refrigerant charge (too much, or too little)...could be an airflow issue like dirty cabin air filter, or clogged condenser...causing either too high or too low head pressure. My bets that it's just not charged correctly.

Selman Heybeli Glaze is created from the dust and or after market brake pads. I don’t want to say that this is temporary but it’s a lot better than going out and buying new rotors and new brake pads when literally all you have to do is get rid of the glaze on the rotor itself and maybe scuff up the brake pad with the appropriate sandpaper not the same stuff I was using
@Gearhead2286
@Gearhead2286 2 года назад
Hard braking glazes rotors as well and low quality brake pads. You can always bring them to O'Reilly and have them machined. Costs at 15 bucks a rotor. The sandpaper trick isn't a long term solution. Buy brake pads that are scorched that you don't have to bed-in. Factory brake pads are the way to go.

Are those water intake pick-ups stock or add-on? I have the Zelos Twin and the pick-ups are part of the hull. They work well for me for now and my boat runs at a favorable temperature. Between 60's and 100. Runs a little hotter when going slower (obviously) but I've recorded the temp at just below 65. If I ever have to, I'm going to add a dual pickup rudder and continue to use the stock pick-ups on the hull as well. Either way, I'm sure those water inlets flow a lot of fluid through the boat.
