Chanel 4 news must either be the ships own network or from Alaska. Back then Chanel 4 in Vancouver was KIRO 4 ABC out of Seattle. Also I agree with the Captain about the weather it was between grades 10 and 11 for me and during all of July we 4 days without rain. Not sure of August as I was working as a deckhand on a fish boat that I had done since I was 12. Several years prior the MS Meteor a smaller cruise ship had a major fire off of the mid-eastern coast of Vancouver Island that caused several fatalities. One of the co-incidents was that the fire occurred close to an Air Force Base that was the main west coast rescue bases. They saved a lot of people air lifting them off.
