The huddleston baits look real nice, but their action is purely all tail movement only. I use the castaic platinum swim baits, they swim better than a real trout
Can you please tell me is it okay to put this reel on Westin w3 40-130 gram rod (1.5oz-4.5oz) ? What are the down size lures that Tranx 301 can cast? Like Super Shad Rap weighing 45 grams,will it throw it normally or its to big reel? And its okay to spool it with 40/50 pound braid? Wanna use it for pike lures in that range the rod is...Thx...
So when I was fishing my hud I got a backlash and the skin of the Huddleston flew right off the harness, and another time a giant bass grabbed my Huddleston I set the hook missed her and when I reeled up all I had was the harness. Doing what he did in the video stops the outer skin of the bait from coming off the internal harness. I started to do it and I haven’t have the skin come off since.
haha yeah this dude did. I used to wear latex gloves under my lacrosse gloves in the winter to keep my hands warm. I still do that when it’s cold out to keep my hands from getting wet but doesn’t help so much when they’re ripped to sht 🤣
What line do you use man I just ordered a s waver a Huddleston and a Mike Bucca Bull Shad but after braking my first hud off I need 2 get that double uni knot down
in this video I was using 20lb big game but now I usually use 65lb braid for baits under 4 ounces and 80lb braid for baits over 4. I still really like mono but after using braid for a few seasons I haven’t had any reason to go back. Also still using the double uni knot
Yeah I like straight braid just because I feel like i’m in more control when fighting fish. you just have to be on your drag when fighting striper. Never casted off a bait with braid. I’ve actually only casted two hudds off ever and that was on Pline copoly
318android this was really for upstate largemouth in my lakes without striper. yeah jump up to st 66 unless you want your feelings hurt by a 30# stripe

I’ve tried all and the Palomar is the only knot I use. I never even made sure the line wasn’t twisted, but I do now. I’ve tried dozens, just to save myself a foot of line and not to pass the bait thru the loop, especially on bigger swimbaits. When I find one that seems to work, it never fails to fail me at some point. That’s a good looking knot but I’ll never leave the Palomar again. I’ve actually broke line and the knot is still strong. I armchair tested a bunch of knots (literally tied off to a chair) and the Palomar is always also most consistent. With braid, I make 2 passes thru when doing the overhand (or double overhand) and before passing the bait thru the loop. Not even sure that’s needed but I do it anyway. Evertime I would watch a new knot video, at some point and time, I ended up loosing a $$ bait or fish. Palomar is the strongest most consistent, but I have used this knot before. I think I just stopped in fear of loosing my bait or fish.

exactly right lol! Almost every time I fish there I get some old person slowing down in their car, glaring me down and then 10 minutes later the fake cops come. They just call because i’m a younger guy.
