Nothing new in documentary. They never go into his childhood to show how he turned out as an adult. If you are a wrestling fan you didnot learn anything new .
2 weeks ago Bryan Alvarez said he expected the Tv deal to be announced within a week.. A week and a half ago John Ourand wrote the deal could be officially announced within a week.. Still NADA Keep on moving the goal post.. Its obvious itll NEVER happen.. WBD will officially cut ties with AEW on 1/1/25.. AEW will be less relevant than TNA at that point!!
Bringing in MVP doesn't address a single one of AEW's issues. Bringing in Bobby Lashley won't address any of them either. It makes no damn sense. It's like AEW actively refuses to see and address their problems, and thinks just signing the next guy and the next guy and so on will keep their audience engaged. It's so frustrating.
I'm glad MVP is in AEW hopefully this doesn't flop because tony khan isn't a good booker he can't book because if he could AEW'S product would be hot but that's not the case anymore is it lol when AEW first started we wanted an alternative to WWE not alternative WWE as brian last said lol this is just another excuse for AEW'S bad ratings and awful ticket sales while WWE'S business is hot i really hope this works out but I doubt it knowing tony's track record and terrible booking.
3 times I had to poop during aew. One of them was mvp appearance. I was going to forgo wiping but this was in the middle of launch and the bay doors were wide open, I didn't want debris falling out onto the launch pad and splashing down the shuttle bay
Watching the whole thing smiling at the thought of Cornette fans stroking out while trying to figure out how to leave "UNCA DAVE" comments on the Netflix app
Even if you don’t like this style of wrestling, you have to respect the performances. The athleticism was impressive and the timing was flawless. For this particular style, it was as good as it gets. Great match in my opinion.
Dave trying to be Diplomatic while he wonders if the Hurt Buisness can keep up with AEW wrestler s,Probably just have MVP and Shelton be the tag team,or maybe just keep them as an Undefeated Trio,But with Shelton and MVP and Lashleys experience, they should do Ok in AEW,I had a feeling there first interaction would be with Swerve(Well Nana is close enough
"Well if you're a diehard, there's nothing revelatory on it" Does it occur to any of you marks that your not the target audience? I was binge watching while my family was in and out. They know fuckall but stopped and watched and were asking a billion questions and then sat on the couch and went "holy shit I didn't know he did that!" at the MONTREAL SCREWJOB! Netflix had to tell this story and get this content out because in January they're getting Raw
I mean Vince literally says at the start of episode 1 '' I am not going to tell you the big stories'' or words similar to that . I don't get why people are so upset about it not showing what THEY think it should have . There is literally legal proceedings ongoing , Netflix has just started a new working relationship with WWE , Vince refused to tell the ''worst'' stories . It was what it was . If you liked it , great . If you didn't , great . But to get upset about it is weird. Also thought Dave was really good on it . Sums up in my mind that his ''uhmm you know , uhmmm uhhh I dont know , you know '' thing is a character
Loving the documentary. It brings the history of WWE and wrestlingE in general into full perspective. McMahon is a complicated man. The abuse he got when he was a kid can not be overstated. It doesn't excuse some of the things he did. At the same time, without him wrestling wouldn't be where it is. It's complicated.
I thought the doc sucked . No new info .. Nothing we haven’t seen from better film makers. Dark Side of the Ring > Mr McMahon in every way possible. Tony Atlas was the ONLY redeeming quality of Mr McMahon.
Yeah I wanted to hear all the witnesses on the previous cases, but with the Grant case they couldn't do it because it's an ongoing investigation and case. But it was disappointing because it's just a timeline of Vince's career.
Sable sues the company 99 for sexual harassment comes back in 2003 is involved in a storyline with Vince kissing and doing all sorts so for me none of these people are believable. It just proves that all of these women talk absolute shit and I just want money.
Overall it leaned negative toward Vince. Not saying that's a bad thing, just it wasn't flattering. The doc covered what felt like dozens of trials and scandals. The ratio of bad guy Vince to good guy Vince commentary was like 10:1. With the "1" being that Vince suffered an abusive childhood and went on to be a "father figure" to tons of wrestlers later.
I think it was way more positive than I expected. It could have been 6 episodes of hatred towards Vince but it fairly highlighted his successes and positives alongside his negatives.
Dave saying they could have gone harder on vince, as if he hasn't heard and known this shit for years. You could have gone harder as well, little cromagnon Meltzer
I just finished episode 6, and I can't believe how tame the entire thing was. Vince would have been better off not issuing a statement about the series in the first place, it did nothing to help or worsen his reputation. Way too many minutes wasted explaining wrestling lingo (I get they are doing that for non-wrestling fans but to me that was a agonizingly boring). I expected a true deep down dive into the history of Vince, yet important topics like how he was sexually abused as a child was merely glossed over. I wanted more hard hitting questions towards his family to see what kind of person he really is. Linda making an appearance yet not being asked about his affairs made no sense to me. Again, I wanted to learn about Vince, not a description of the history of WWE throughout the years, which documentary ended up being. Beating WCW, for example, shouldn't take an entire episode to talk about, there are a million other documentaries dedicated to just that.
It focuses on the last few years, it really doesn't say anything new at all if already someone that keeps up but lots of it is likely to be new to most Netflix viewers
I don't think people call him a genius? It's not something that I've heard many people say. He's certainly intelligent at the least, given his level of education and success as a promoter. It's not fair to say he was merely lucky, he made some clearly excellent decisions that lead to the success of WWE as a business.
