Founded on the belief that life is better around a campfire, we live for weekends in the wild and the many pursuits of the sporting life. Fly fishing, campfire cooking, dogs in trucks, mountain towns, post-game whiskeys, hiking, hunting, and general backcountry diversions are all part of the Lost Coast story.
We Believe that the highest honor we can pay a product is to stock it in our store and recommend it to our customers. We stock only the best brands and products at every price point. If you want to fly fish, regardless of budget or background, we have the equipment and expertise to get you outfitted.
Lost Coast Outfitters is proud to serve as The San Francisco Fly Shop, but we're most at home outside the city limits. Our team is a collective of anglers and adventurists who seek out great fishing, appreciate quality gear, and don't mind smelling like a campfire.
Success story ? What are you talking even talking about the fishery is one twentieth of what it was when it was stocked . You must have never fished the creek pre 2008 .
First Dumbbell Fly Hit be in the back, Second Dumbbell hit me in the back of the head. I'm done with Heavily weighted Fly, just kept them to loan to my fishing Buddies LOL, Nice Fly going to be tying some Today.
I Live along the upper Klamath River! And I don't think that you are going to Fishing on the River for decades. Even if the Fish come back. Its going to be so regulated that there not let anyone fish. The dams are gone now. It's come a sewer Now.
Nice video. I’m an old man. My son and I once fished the Kispiox for three weeks without seeing a fish. Camping in the rain, some mornings icy guides. The rain came, the river rose, the river fell….then came “that evening”. Never forget it. A million dollars? Two? People throw around the word priceless, well, there ain’t no free lunch. Gotta love steelhead fishing.
Great place to fish with a lot of trophy trout. I had a lot of luck there the other week: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yr4-kGlHj8c.html
Great video. Delta is an amazing place. So many different places to fish there. A much bigger area than most people realize. It seems like you can go for miles and miles all day. Miss it and the Bay Area a lot
Great fish! I have fished for strippers all through the bay area and I have caught some big fish but that is bigger than anything I released. What a beast! I have lost a few that mind tells me we’re that big . 😂 What an incredible experience and have your son there too! I miss the dudes at world waters in Sausalito I could walk the there from my house. Love your videos. Going out with you guys fishing would be epic I’m sure
Sorry your prices are insane. I know fly fishing for some is like golf but shout out to the real fisherman that don’t need to show off their 10.000 dollar equipment. Stuff that jacket where it belongs with this pricing!
It’s nice to see young people fly angling. Any fish can be taken by the fly. Scientific angling is just that , science. Fishing is for the hungry and the dreamer.
that is a good idea to anchor the dry to skitter it on the surface. I love the constant equipment adaption to overcome situations as waters and conditions change.
Thank you Evan and Lost Coast! I watched Evan do this demo during the pandemic zoom meetings and I've been looking forward to tying this fly. After all this time I found this video! Gonna tie it tonight.
I'd love to hear about the setup and types of flies you were using. Technique, too. After this video, I tried fishing along the Humboldt coast with no luck. I'm sure the fish were able to sense my lack of skill and, respectfully, left me alone to perfect my technique. I used a 5wt, 7wt spey, and 8wt rods. I know my line didn't get down to the bottom fast enough.
