The location of the transmission dipstick is so stupid that it's insane. So I took out the air filter assembly, a royal PITA, then removed the 10mm bolt, only to find that the dipstick was fused to the trans housing and so risked breaking the engine-heat brittle plastic handle if I worked it too much. Couple this bad experience with an long-time unfixed, endemic spongy braking problem due to a Ford -designed ABS module that should have been a worldwide recall, and we're reluctant to buy a new Mazda.
Do you have a part number for the vvt seal? Ordered the wrong part twice now… Even though the description was for the skyactiv engine, the seals they sent were too big. Thanks!
This system was simple it worked or it did not and very easy to diagnose. Three parts excluding the ECM. Ignition module, pickup coil and ignition coil. If you cranked the engine and the injectors fired then most likely it is a bad ignition coil. If they did not fire most likely the ignition module or pickup coil is bad. Replace them both at the same time. But before replacing them check to make sure the computer can fire the injectors. There is a test procedure for this.if the computer fires the injectors then replace the module and pickup. On the system with vacuum advance the pickup alone can be the problem. But I replace both anyway to prevent future problems. It is a very stout system.
What size was that adjustable wrench. I noticed 1-1/8 goes around it... But not snuge.. changed it now I have a high idle more in neutral not as loud driving. But when I unplugged the factory map sensor it got normal like quiet.
@@aladdin1709 yep I went to harbor and got me a set.. and I put new iac in. Now it's doing a high idle in neutral not as much as in gear. I also changed o2 sensor . I have no cat so no rear of sensor.
useless did not show how to remove the old one. I need to know if you must remove the bumper cover to replace and is the drivers side different as that is the one I will be replacing.
Hey bro I have a 2007 element hard shift 1 to 2 and it won’t go out of second the VSA light came up I turn off and on the car then runs good for a while VSA light goes away but eventually starts doing it again any thoughts? Thanks
Update from my inicial comment, I replaced that dual linear solenoid and pressure switches on my 2007 pilot, but didn’t fix the hard shift from first to 2nd gear. The fix in my case was ( throttle body replacement & re-learn process) shifting is smooth again😅
What was the issue with your throttle body? Having the same issue with my Fit. Hard shifts from 1-2. Yet to try replacing the part in this video but curious as to how the throttle body might be the issue
@@pjsaltbabyrage7567 One day my pilot accelerated on it's own like it was possessed! No codes, no check engine light. Soon after I started to experience the 1st to 2 nd hard shift. I did 3x drain and fill, new pressure switches and replaced the dual linear solenoid but it didn't help. I remember that the hard shift was only present while the engine was cold. Several months went by and one day I used my friend advance scanner and it showed a pending code ABS 83-01 ( ABS disabled over 30mph due to acceleration communication error with the throttle body ) I then cleaned the throttle body it was really dirty but that didn't solve the problem, I then opted to replace the throttle body. I went to a junk yard and removed it from a wrecked pilot with 59k miles. I installed the new throttle body and did a relearn procedure and my pilot started shifting smooth again. If I were you first start by 3x drain and fill with the correct fluid ( No flush ) Clean the throttle body make sure no to spray the mass air sensor with the throttle body spray cleaner. If that doesn't help then clean and test the dual linear solenoid replace it if necessary also replace the pressure switches.
I have accord 2008, I am facing an issue in the morning while cold start, when shift to D, it jerks and then goes away later on. Is this the same issue which you explained?
Thank you for sharing this video. My 07 Honda pilot developed this exact problem from 1sr to 2nd gear but only when the engine and transmission are cold it goes away after driving for 20 minutes. I will definitely look into this.
I'm having the same issue. But mine is when down shifting, or coming to a stop. It jerks the car (2006 Accord) from 2nd to 1st. It's also delaying and slams when I put it in drive on a cold start. Once the trans gets hot enough after about 30 minutes of driving, it works pretty fine. I'm going to try finding a used OEM selonoid.
99 Honda odyssey I did that and the other ones…brand new…stil no good results, tcs/ check engine light on..oh yea brand new 02 sensors as well, under100,000 too, and it’s showing p0135
I have been looking for a automobile transmission specialist so that I could learn a lot about these issues. My Honda Fit first gen has D blinking without giving any codes. It will start and when I switch off the engine and start again it stops. Do you think my transmission is going?
