Paul Merson is an idiot at best probably has some mental condition. The new Gazza. If he was any good at predictions he wouldn’t have been as bad a gambler as he was. Absolute clown he is, mental issues or not
if the lfc execs make a point of buying players with good character then darwins off pitch escapades at the copa will have shocked them. i bet his card has been marked on an exec level.
I have a strong faith Jones as a warrior & how Slot is going to take care of Klopp's kids when he passed over. It's just first few months for the players to pickup new & sophisticated tactics, too early to conclude. Wait until the kids totally understand tactics then we can only know Slot character.
Uruguay also play to his strengths, relatively simple chances in front of goal but which needs athleticism to get there in the first place. For example sliding tap ins at the far post or first time shots around the penalty spot. 11 goals in 8 games.
Eh, Slot is still completely unproven at the highest level & his players have won a lot more than him. He's only one major misstep from being Ten Hag v2.0 imo & needs to be careful. Reserving judgement for now.
I hear alot of people saying klopp was good at dealing with the press. I beg to differ, klopp allowed the press to ask too many stupid questions and was often triggered by them. But the biggest mistake klopp made was publicly promoting the covid jab. klopp was niave, misinformed, manipulated and decieved which is why he should have stuck to the football and this should come as a reminder to never idolise or blindly follow anyone. That all said I really enjoyed klopp as Liverpool manager, he did a fantastic job and put LFC back on top with the elite clubs in Europe. Arne Slot in his early tenure gives the press little and has zero terance which I like but the press obviously wont like. His press conference maybe a little less exciting than klopps, but long may it continue i say. The press willbe quick to turn on the manager reguardless to is feed to them as that is the nature of the game in which they play.
@@papalegba6796Maybe, I understand Klopp and the team had to take it, but he didn’t have to promote it. Sport was invented to take ordinary peoples minds off the hardship of life, not to be infused by it.
Here a Feyenoord supporter. Slot game is pressing with the 9 and 10, the wings stay with the backs. He wants the opponent to one side of the field and everyone tilts to compact the playing field for the opponent. they can only play long balls, which are easier to defend. The play from the back starts with luring the opponent's attackers, who are passed by with clever combination football to create an extra man in midfield. With that extra man, the opponent has to make choices about who to defend so that it is easier for the attackers to get into free space. With his way of playing he demolishes the opponent's pressing. The attackers have to press in a certain way, defending starts with the attackers. There is a lot of dirty work to be done and not every player can figure it out in just a few weeks. Nunez doesn't quite have that yet, but his time will come. Same for Chiesa
klopp my have worked the room with the press earlier on but by the end of it klopp looked like a man experiencing time going backwards trying to get through the pressers.
people are too sentimental about kelleher, he is no way near ali. outfield players can and will make mistakes without consequences but if a keeper messes up its a goal.
@@pacanukeha yes indeed but when you win the league you will likely have to say kweev was world class last year, and that aint happening. he is for sale also so the technical people must have doubts.
Yes bad bad day at the office... The issue was just the manner of the defeat and how Slott coped with the selection/substitutions/in game mgt.... let alone closing formation of 3 at the back with ill suited players....We Just expected more of a retaliation especially at home...... This situation should have been expected and will arise again... Hopefully lessons learnt, and regroup for Milan on Tues.....
Not a fan of the kits Nike has been poor and the leaked addidas ones sadly are not inspiring.... Perhaps they will look better in person.... can't understand why they have been so poor for the last 8yrs... fitting and look have been ugly bar some away/3rd kits... As for Slott needs to do better with a plan B +C and need not make panicked subs... better to tweak ingame formation and management... Clearly he needs to deprioritize the cups as will have his hands full with PL and CL.
An exact example of what will and continue to happen as a direct result of not strengthening that midfield and that defense and that left-back position in the transfer window. Where are all the top Reds now when we have to have Trent go in the midfield and Curtis Jones as our best potential option off the bench?.
Poor all round from Slott and the key players... except Alisson vvd ibu... There is no sugar coating this, need to be realistic. Grav was ok. Mac should not have played. The back 3 substitution??? made no sense, Bradley got hung out to dry with that change.....thats on Slot... His tactical acumen was below par today..... Fairplay to Forrest worked their tactics perfectly.... Welcome to the PL Slott... Need to shake this off and come up with a better plan B and C.... He should have known this from videos and his knowledge of football.... Need to put this behind and go again for Milan.
liverpool should be red , yellow or white in the kits no green badge embellishment. i heard the word off white the other day in connection with adidas kits, good god no.
I think curtis could play number 10 role because his pressing and counter pressing is good obviously doesnt have the engine or legs szobo has and spends a bit too long on the ball but curtis is a really talented player that deserves a chance i think he could play there i think honestly diaz could and play gakpo or chiesa left or gakpo could play 10 i think we have options even curtis could play deeper and alexis moves up there
over rated, no one wants to pay the asking price. pickford , onana my goodness how goaly standards have dropped and even more incredible that people havent noticed. goalies dont even catch catchable balls just knock into the penalty area. liverpool with kelleher aint winning the league.
This video had zero insight into anything and is such clickbait. Bad news from Virgil because he wants to play the next world cup? Its a really stupid thing to say. how on earth is that a spanner in the works for contract negotiations if he wants to keep his best possible form and captain the dutch for the next world cup? Milner retired because England were stacked and had no use of him. This is VVD we are talking about with all due respect. Him and Salah leave and we drop 3 league positions in the table.
listen, eric has recommended the man to fix utds problems but ineos refuse to employ harry potter. if anyone from utd are listening, dynamo the magician is pretty good at miracles.
best back up keeper in the league does not equate to a world class first choice keeper, weak link in the long run of a league winning campaign if ali gets a serious injury. netflix wanna get round to old trafford (b4 they sell naming rights), theres a couple of movies and a sad opera to squeeze out of that continuing fiasco. question. can dash ville be brought over this season if ali goes down unjured.
I don't really get the panic around Salah. I personally think the club were right to wait, and now we can move forward with confidence. Who's going to buy him in Europe? Bayern the most likely who could afford him, but can't see him going there. Too soon for Saudi, as it transpires. I think Salah knows this and it's why he spoke out. He knows he needs the club to extend his contract for his own success, legacy and prof security. But, equally, the club now need to sort it out to ensure our own competitiveness and global appeal. He's a club legend and it's evident he's not done. I reckon he'll get a 3 year deal. That'd be the sensible move, with the likelihood of selling him after 2 to a Saudi or US club. Same for VVD. TAA is the outlier. His contract should've been sorted a long time ago.
