Too bad you couldn't reach the summit after such an effort. Did it last year with my wife on the back on our 1290 SAR with full set of panniers and street tyres, albeit no snow.

nice walk-thru. Quick and efficient. Thanks! Still looking for how to adjust map detail level with the wonder wheel while on the go, if anybody knows.
@mrlancekink
@mrlancekink 4 дня назад
found the answer. map detail is adjustable with the wonder wheel with the map visible on the bike in map mode, by first clicking the wonder wheel "out" to navigate to the left side of the map (toward the magnifying glass icon in the left margin). Then just spin the wheel for zoom level. Dont know why I missed that on my first ride!

Been riding 50+ years, haven't had a bike tip over in 25. Well, 2 days ago my gs tips over in the driveway. I had wondered since I bought this if I would be able to lift it doing the backwards walk. Not I know. There is no way in hell. I had no idea how difficult this would be on a bike that had no crash bars nor panniers. It was laying completely horizontal. The rear tire was at least 6" off the ground and I couldn't get the rear tire to bite in the loose stones. It just kept sliding away from me. It took me 3 long hours to get that bike up using every strap, small hydraulic jack, 6' ladder and my car to get enough leverage, plus my wife's assistance, to get the bike back up. So, that's how I ended up checking out this video!

Great planning app indeed, but one thing I do not like is that when importing an existing route, Calimoto automatically re-calculates that exisiting route 'for an optimal user experience', i.e. you loose the original imported route. That should be an on/off feature.

Good question. Depends on what bike to a certain degree, but I have never done that route so would need to see the gpx file. That said I would always advocate for at least a 50/50 tire regardless. By doing so it reduces there being a chance that a road tyre is going to get you into trouble off road. Cheers. Billy

I tried several times to do just that. It did not work for me. The dealer wanted a stupid price for a new one. So I simply used a side cutter, cut the little loop and removed the pin. My cap operates well. I am not bothered about it not locking as the bike is kept in the garage over night. I liked this little hack.

Hey Will. Thanks for watching and your comments / questions. To be honest, it a case of knowing where i want to ride and then getting stuck in to google maps and checking out the entry / exit to the tracks to see what sign posting there is that tells me if I can ride it or not. Failing that, which does not often happen I then go to a topical maps using DMD2 or myrouteapp to check the same route and what the map identifies the trail as. It does involve some time and effort but worth it. Cheers Billy

Hi All, First: a brilliant video ... no bla bla but guiding through. THX!! Secondly: I have a question: Sometimes the map on my mobile tops over whilst riding ... not easy to follow, when all is displayed 180degrees turned and the handwheel is still working as it should (its functionality is not topped over) ... I have neither understood why it does that nor why it returns to normal display after random period of time. Furthermore in (sometimes!) resets when addressing a differen screen and then returning to the map. The display setting on my SAMSUNG S10 (updated) is set to "not autamaticaly turn'. Has anybody an idea? THX, Andreas (Germany)
@BillysBikeAdventures
@BillysBikeAdventures 19 дней назад
Hi Andreas. Thanks for watching and your comments / question. You are not alone in this issue at all. I have experienced this with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Locked on no rotation but yet still does this with the DMD2 app. The app itself is brilliant but not sure why the rotation occurs. It then corrects itself a few minutes later. A strange one. if any one has any insight to share on this do let us know. Would seem to be a Samsung issue rather than an app issue perhaps. Cheers Billy

@ABo-gt1pl 19 дней назад
@@BillysBikeAdventures THX for your reply, Billy ... I have one idea for a root cause (it remains to be a speculation): When mobile gets warmer the gyro-sensor gets possibly irritated. Second idea is the sensor gets in trouble by shockings/vibrations ... Just as an idea ... maybe there's someone taking this as a next step in explaining this issue. However, these ideas still "need" an irritation/mistake in the SAMSUNG software. I agree, that it is more likely a problem on SAMSUNG side. An evidence for that may be, that the orientation of the control wheel is unaffected. On the other hand I have never seen any of my SAMSUNG devices doing sth like that... and I use SAMSUNG for about 15 yrs. now as tablets and mobiles.

I want to ride year round. In my area it gets down to ~0deg for a few weeks/month and is in the 30s or lower for roughly 2 months. I want to be able to go ride comfortably for as long as I'd like. @BillysBikeAdventures 24 дня назад
Hey there and thanks for watching and your comments / questions. Either of the jackets will get you there. I have also had the 505 Premium and very good. The key difference between the two is that the 505 has thicker sleeves than the ultaflex so provides a little more comfort, but honestly either are great. The gloves are pretty good in the winter without the heat on but when you combine the jacket and the gloves together, its awesomely warm. I have no problem recommending these products. Cheers. Billy
