Really helpful. Most vids just show what you get and the software, this one saved me a lot of time time researching. Appreciate it. Subscribed for this alone, a lot of you tubers miss what we are doing when we actually use the hardware, which is the most important element. Thanks again.
It has its pros and cons. Pro, power to weight. Con, small wheel base not stable at high speed. Corvettes have a much longer wheels base and therefore stable at speed.
Can you individually control all the fans RGB with the Octo? Aka, plug all RGB headers into the A-RGB hub, then into the Octo like you showed. Or can you just do one colour/theme on all of the fans that way?
I connected 2 octo to the splitty9 aquabus, but I cant find any of them in the aquasuite. I want to connect 4 d5next and 3 octo to the aquaero6 aquabus through splitty9. How can I do that?Thank you so much for helping me out:)
Be sure to check the Voltage requirements for each D5. One thing I do want to correct that I believe I said in the video is that you can't use the Aquabus with the Vision Quadro & Octo. Set jumper on Splitty9 to regular configuration and not Aquabus. Then take a fan hub on the Octo and connect to the input of the splitty9 to provide the PWM signal. Keep me updated to see if that works. I figured it out the hard way but it's been a while since so I'll help you out if needed. Start with that and let me know.
Hi 40rty, great and much needed video. I had a quick question about the signal cable connecting from the octo to the power switch header of the motherboard. So, I am suppose to remove the original power switch header that is connected to my front panel, and put in the power switch pin on the signal cable? Will my pc still power on if I press the power on switch from the front panel of my pc? Sorry if this sounds really dumb I just wanted a quick confirmation that this is indeed the way it was intended. Many thanks!
Not a dumb question at all. Yes, you will be able to turn your PC on as you normally would using your front I/O. As you described is how it connects. This is to enable the ability for your system to shutdown in rhe case that you have a pump failure. This can be set in the Aquasuite software.
Hi, thanks for the video, so bad you dont talk about the flow meter as i can't plug my alphacool "temperature/flowmeter combo" on the octo and i don't know what adapter or cable i have to use :(
I also came specifically for this reason. Now I'm left with more questions because the flowmeter on the Alphacool ES Durchfluss looks like a regular Molex 3 pin fan header, and the port on the Octo looks like a regular (yet uncommon) 3 pin JST header, yet he talks about a "Proprietary" connector. I thought I could rewire the Alphacool flowmeter with a JST connector, but then I also have to take into consideration compatibility with the cable gauge...
Many thanks for this video. I would be grateful if you could advise on the cable to connect flow sensor to this OCTO controller. The normal flow meter would come with 3 pin header that does not match with 3 pin connection on this module. The 3 pin port on OCTO is very tiny.
The Saturn Sky didn't come factory with a top, that was only for the 2009 Solstice. This is a hardtop from Norm's Fiberglass. I didn't spend 4k, I was the person who first enlisted Norms to create a hardtop for the Sky back in 2011.
Marketing sure is awesome huh? Lol I didn't believe 200mph either. Are you attempting to dry your vehicle or simply get as much water off it after a wash? I personally would minimize the use for this blower to dry and use a good drying towel instead. This blower has been great for leaves, dust cleaning for my garage. I have more powerful blowers for task that need more.
How have the driving manners been? Taking off from a start decent or a pain? Just made a deposit at Performance Autowerks for the same setup. Been a little concerned from reading on LS1tech that the cam isn’t that great with a manual and smells. You have cats? Thanks for the info.
No cats. Redid suspension and tires. Car is pretty planted with 285s all around. Launches are great, the car only weighs 21lbs more than with the stock engine and I've corner balanced the car to get Weight distribution back to 50/50. She handles great!!
Sorry, total noob here: Does the OCTO connect to the internal USB 2.0/1.1 Header on the motherboard? If so, can I use a splitter, because I only have one internal USB header on my motherboard, as I also need one for front I/O USB connection.
Thanks for this explanation. I have one question regarding the temp sensor. Can any 2-pin sensor work with the controller or you have to buy a specific Aqua Computer sensor ?
Any chance you can make a quick video and/or explain where that alarm/signal cable plugs into your mobo? As a complete noob, I couldn't quite follow your explanation in this video. I'm also curious about how you're using that RGB hub/splitter. Are you simply connecting all your RGB cables to it, then connecting it to the Octo? If so, are you still able to control each individual LED in Aquasuite, or are they like connecting PWM fans to a hub, where they all spin at the same RPM? Regardless, this video was really helpful for me already, and I really appreciate your effort!
I'm wondering the same about the RGB hub/splitter. I plugged a 1-to-5 splitter into the rgbpx port and I'm only able to control one fan's led from the software.
The alarm/signal cable has a splitter on it. It ultimately connects to the Power SW plug on your motherboard. The splitter adapts the front I/O Power SW to the adaptor cable and the adaptor cable then plugs in place of the original Power SW on the motherboard.
You said your wife is using the Splitty9 to use 9 fans. Can the OCTO not handle more than one fan per header with 3-into-1 splitter cables? I ask because I'm about to install the OCTO into my own system, with 10 fans populating the Lian Li O11 XL.
So as long as you stay within the wattge specs of the header(25W) you will be fine. For example, my Wife's fans only .18A each. 25 watts=2.083 amps or 12 volts. She is running her 9 fans now with no issue.
The are more like fan channels than individual fan headers. You can easily use splitters and have multiple fans per header without any issues (25w/header or 100W max combined). No way you're going to have more than 100W of fans in your computer right? make groups of fans that makes sense and combine then with y-cables. then you ahve 8 distinct groups you can control.
aquacomputer also has an active version of the splitty 9, which works the same way, but has an extra sata power connector, so the fans connected to the splitter are fed from the sata (power supply)
Thanks! I would have paid $10 more if they would have just sent all the cables to begin with. Frustrating to hunt these random cables and connectors down.
