So looking forward to this! God saved me once and he’s saving me still. God has usedWild at Heart/Ransomed Heart to rescue my heart and soul. I’m forever indebted to these people I’ve never met yet who have been faithful to the message God has called them to. I can’t wait to share this with others!

Behind the scenes folks ,,blessings ,,shalom . I usually listen on the app but don’t see a method for feed back there is that possible in the app .

The best coaches teach us the same thing over and over until we get it. Listening to this I am struck by the deep and rich invitation that you are talking about - fellowship with Jesus, in the security of the Father's provision, rejoicing in the excitement and uncertainty of following the Holy Spirit into the adventure designed for us. It's a scary journey because I can't do it on my own and if I find myself trying to control outcomes, then I need to ask where my trust and faith is failing. I love how Sam and Blaine talking about their own new directions out beyond the WAH umbrella so clearly demonstrate what it looks like to follow that call to epic adventure and what it looks like to have a good father bless that and allow them the scope to follow God. Thanks for having these conversations and helping to point me towards God.

Thank you John and Allen!! So much spoke to me in this deep dive and review as your conversations always do. I plan to relisten soon. I so appreciate taking “The Pause” with you and now do it regularly. Also the background music track is SO calming but unobtrusive and helps settle my heart. Is it possible to post the link to the artist and title so I can let it play? Once again, many thanks for Wild at Heart podcast.

The "biblical" view/paradigm that another group (mine) has is that the constant reference of the apostles is that we are awaiting the day of the Lord and, as Peter said, all things are being reserved for the day of destruction and burning...so, therefore "knowing that all these things are about to take place, what manner of people ought you to be?" This view is biblical and, as I said, it is a frequent (constant?) reference of Paul's, Peter's and John's- There's no escaping that the apostles paradigm/ world view was that the Lord is coming soon so be ready. Interesting too that they never really tie in the idea that this "being ready" means we are to be reaching the world with the great commission (?!?!?!) Holiness, a clear conscience and to be found in love, grace, peace etc. so that that Day doesn't come upon you "unawares". Do with it what you will but any kind of honest, daily reading/exposure to the scripture, especially the apostles writings leaves you with the sense that "ALL things are anxiously waiting" the redemption promises' fulfillment. Thanks for the nice podcast

Eldredge’s wonderfully helpful category of The Poser was transformational for me. It helped even more when I searched Scripture for this category - and I found it: The Poser is what the New Testament calls the Flesh. Paul discusses some important things about this in Romans 6 and Romans 7. • In Rom.6:6 Paul says “We know that our old self [or “old man” [palaios anthropos]) has been crucified.” If my old man/self was crucified with Jesus, then my old man/self is now dead. When Jesus arose out of the grave, my old man/self didn’t rise with him. My old man is still dead (Rom.6:6) and buried (Rom.6:4) - twice removed, as I like to say. • So if my old man/self is dead, why do I sin? • Paul answers this in Rom.7:7-20, where Paul turns his attention to the Flesh, which can be thought of as the old self’s (the old man’s) habits. Even though my old man/self is dead, all the habits and trained responses and trained thought life of the old man/self is still active - and those collective, cumulative habits are the Flesh - what Eldredge puts in more practice language as the Poser. • The Poser/the Flesh ISN'T the real me. The False Self Eldredge mentions is the Flesh. The real me - the true me - is a new creation, is the righteousness of God in Christ, is a saint who sometimes stumbles. For the believer, the real man/self is the born-again man/self, the New Man/Self. • NOTE WELL: I am STILL a sinner saved by grace, absolutely. What I’m pointing out here is that is not all that I am - it’s not all that any believer is: - I as the New/Man am qualified by Father to share in the inheritance of the saints (Col.1:12); - I as the New/Man am a new creation - a new man (2 Cor.5:17) - I as the New/Man am the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Cor.5:21). • Eldredge’s use of the term “Poser” is very helpful - it doesn't sound "theological" - and it’s so good to see how this term Poser connects with the Biblical discussion of the Flesh. • BTW and FWIW, the internal civil war going on inside every believer ISN’T between the Old Man/Self and the New Man. The Old Man/Self is dead and buried (Rom.6:6 and 6:4). The internal civil war going on inside the believer - “Part of me wants to do X [a bad thing] but part of me doesn’t want to do X” - that civil war is between the New Man and the Flesh.

I was raised up in an old line Pentecostal environment. We were taught from an early age to live a crucified life for Christ. What was implied in that, is that we are to be completely without passion, sense of purpose, or any interest at all. By my late teens and early 20s, the consequences of that were like a nuclear bomb in my life. I’m 69 now. Divorced. No children. At the poverty level. I looked back at the last 40+ years of my life and all I see are ashes. The next time I hear someone talk about our need to lay our life down for Christ (which is truly essential) I’m going to go up to them and slap them so hard their grandchildren will feel it. As they’re laying there, i’m going to tell them that the next time they teach this, they need to explain exactly what it means, and what it potentially doesn’t mean. I am far from unique. There are many generations of sincere Christians, primarily senior men, who live in despondency and despair because of this. One of the collateral consequences of this, is the surge in suicides among senior Christian men. It’s near epidemic levels. No one in the church is paying any attention to this.

I don’t look up to white collar types. I grew up on a farm. I grew up with men who built things often. I respect that gift. I however do look over to the white collar guys because they do bring things to the table. If I need surgery I’m going to the best surgeon I can find. Well after I go to the best of the best Jesus.

I'm adopted my birth father is a total ass and my adopted father has hated me since the moment he saw me I grew up being a human punching bag. Ive kept all the bloody shirts hes created for me to remind me how much im hated. but yet I am stuck doing everything I can to help and take care of both him and by adopted mother and he destroys me mentally and emotionally every moment we are around each other but there's nothing I can do to change it, the only thing that helps is getting numb with drugs and wishing and hoping to die every moment I'm awake. This world is not for me nor I for it. God don't want me the devil don't need me. All my friends are dead and they're the lucky ones.
