Ever since I watched this tutorial I've been mixing my beats like this, & I'm glad because it gives me a good amount of headroom for my master to really get it cranking loud & it works like a charm. Thank you for making this tutorial. Just a quick question: I noticed you boosted the kick in the sub frequencies, doesn't that cause it to clash with your bass?

Great video but kicks from Vengeance packs are all heavily compressed straight out of the box so I don’t tend to add any compression to them. I also believe that preset “drums” on the compressor is meant for a drum bus, not the kick itself. But hey if it sounds good, do it! Kick should also be in mono....
I've learnt an intense amount more now since this tutorial, most of what you say makes sense 🔥. But there's sometimes good uses for things that were not necessarily intended for that purpose which make sounds better 👌
