It was sad when I heard about Dave Raymond's passing ... I marched with them through the 80's ... I did a lot of Art Work for them also, even T-shirts ... sadly Dioxin Poisoning (Agent Orange) really took a lot of Vietnam Veterans (including dealing with related illness myself) way too early.... He and his wife were very kind and very helpful people. I spent hours talking to him. He even came to my last Art Show in the Early 1990's with the guys to support this Yank at Sydney Rocks' ... "The Dog Tag" exhibition, along with the American Ambassador and the Australian Governor General ... Ken Willhite (2/502 INF, 101st Airborne) ... "Least we Forget"
Thanks for the lovely memory Ken. Mom is still here and is the current president of the American legion auxiliary. I remember you but not sure if you remember the youngest Raymond, the little ginger head girl that always came to watch dad March. I used to answer the phone too, my little legs always ran to the phone when it rang.
@@ruffnutt1 I remember your Mum doing Thanks Giving I think it was at Bankstown... I have to say , every Australian Vietnam Veteran friends and my two American VN Vets (Dave knew them) have all died, mostly from cancer. I'm glad Dave had a good life and family, I do miss his stories, ha ... he was the only triple CIB holder I ever met, a very brave man, considering I was with the US Army and DOD for over 9 years... you should be proud of them both. Bless you.
@@airbrushken5339 very proud and blessed. Dad went in his sleep just after sipping some red wine and flying first class back home. Couldn’t ask for a better exit really. We still do the july 4th and thanksgiving but these days it’s in the city as most don’t drive anymore. Good memories.
