Shiloh won an UNDESERVED medal in Terni 22 with his monstrosity of a "longbow," which shouldn't even be allowed in this class... I know that it is, but it shouldn't be. This is an example of how World Archery, through their rulebooks, is trying to destroy traditional bow and lonbow classes and push all towards modern bows. It was shameful to watch thus match, I'm really glad it was just a bronze medal.
2025 is one year. As good as any other. But seriously, if you come, make sure you get the practice pass. A lot goes on at the practice range at Lancaster. Some of the best advice I have ever got was on the Lancaster practice range. (AKA on Reddit as Barebow-Shooter)
@@mozu305Ayyyyyy sup dude! I’m sure we have crossed paths on Reddit before 😁 probably won’t happen for me this year, but nonetheless one year I’ll turn up with my ELB to hang out with the outlaws despite what class it is 🏹😄
BTW, the registration form has changed. If you are thinking of going to the Classic, try to register and see if your address will work. I am from DC and cannot register yet as the form only has the 50 states. Foreign archers will probably have the same problem, but please reach out to Lancaster if you have a problem.
I just went back and if you check the "International" check box at the top of the form, you can register in DC using the region field. It will also work for card information.
I'm not a hunter, but I see new archers all the time often for the first time shooting and expecting to hunt the same fall. I gently tell if you cannot make an ethical kill, don't take the shot. Heck, don't go hunting. Good explanation of an ethical kill.
Good bows I have the das dx5 and the das 17. The das 17 I would have liked more adjustment with the bottom tiller bolt. Next to no clearance as the bezel hits the riser making a buzz noise on the shot. I fixed the clearance issue..
Yes the das fitting pockets non ilf. I had an old tiller bolt bezel and I ground it down on an angle so not to contact the riser. I was able to turn the tiller bolts 1.5 turns in from factory settings.
Your shooting is good!!! I noticed your elbow just before your shots looked like you collapsed a bit or creeped forward? It didn't hurt your accuracy. I'm fascinated looking at people's form because sometimes I can shoot great and other times I just shoot badly..
This guy is so excited about trad archery it just makes the viewer excited too. I liked the unboxing and it was a thorough review. Good job. 36” inch waist. I wish….
I remember when she first started coming to Twin Oaks. She was great back then. Got to score her when she shooting against the men in one of the three rivers shoot downs. It’s easy to score someone when all they shoot are tens. Truly a classy lady and still the best archer I ever saw. Best wishes to her.
I just bought this bow in 45 and 30 pounds . my first long bow. cant beat it for the money. a lot of fun . shoots good for me. thanks for the review. im glad i took the chance!
Great Interview, worth to watch for anyone remotely interested in Archery! Also learned a few things I did not even know about Jack = I don't/didn't know Jack :D
Probably better than mine. I would say this though. The high speed shows his fingers curl back very quick as the string goes away. It makes me think that there was most likely still a "speed bump" at his fingertips as the string came across. Just my 2 cents, like I said, I couldn't have done better, so, no shade on this guy. I shoot trad archery and the biggest thing that I've learned is that muscle group isolation is 100%percent the name of the game. Getting these tiny muscle groups to work somewhat independent of one another is very difficult to do.
Very interesting to see how was his aproach to solving your target panic. Somehow I felt it was close to how I solved mine. I had a very bad tp too, and I found a way to control it by using my compound bow trigger. So that way I make my brain confortable again with the picture of the pin (I shoot an olympic recurve) in the X again, and take my time to stabilize, expand and shoot.
Im a one piece traditional Bear bow type, and sometimes, I do wish I could transport it in a backpack, and that's What Fred Bear take down system was designed for, transportability. I agree on the handle riser. All Fred Bear bows are known for great risers with awesome locater grips, except for the mag riser version. What happened there, I do wonder.
Great quivers, great people! I have owned several, on recurves, longbows, one piece bows, take downs... I like the slide too. I currently have a strap and love it.
They have done a brilliant job with your logo! Looks sweet on there, if I have one made I’ll have to do the same as you and paint mine in white 👌🏹 I do like the allure of a bow quiver to sort of act like a weight to keep my cant consistent 😁
Big fan of the ol' strap on bow quivers. I use the Great Northern strap on and used to use the kwikee slip on ones back in the day (they had no broadhead guard), all super easy to use.
Soften the rubber in hot water and then put it on while the rubber is still soft, as it cools down the rubber will tighten up. I use a mini boa quiver on my longbow check em out.
oh thats a great idea!!! thanks I will give it a try. I bought a mini boa and it just wouldn't stay still on my longbow. I will take it off and see if that works.
