I am watching your RU-vid video very well. Watching Louise's videos helps me understand the law of common law countries, including the UK. I am a lawyer(called Beop-Mu-Sa) in Korea. Beop-Mu-Sas in Korea are selected through an annual examination administered by the Supreme Court, with only 130 individuals chosen each year. This is similar to the SQE exam in the UK. Lawyers in Korea are similar to solicitors in the UK. While solicitors in the UK can represent clients in lower courts, there is a difference in that lawyers in Korea cannot yet represent clients in court, but otherwise they are similar. Lawyers advise and consult with clients in the litigation process, regardless of the level of the court, and prepare and submit various documents. However, they cannot attend court to argue. Legislative discussions are underway in Korea to give lawyers the right to argue. There are no special restrictions on filing civil lawsuits in Korea. If you want to file a lawsuit, you can submit a complaint to the civil court. Unlike common law countries such as the UK, the process of argument does not play a significant role in Korea, and document preparation is important. As Korea does not have a jury system and professional judges make the decision, only the arguments presented in writing can be used in the trial. Arguments not written in the document cannot be presented unless the opposing party is present.
