@@wardysworx you picked me up worng there wardy,i was trying to say i am not a competent machanic so i would stay away from these bongos. I can tell from your video you are a knowledgeable machcanic. I did word it wrong , my bad.
just did the blanking - it seems as its stopped leaking!!! Just one question - is it a looped system - one pipe goes out to rear and another pipe comes back to valve block or both goes into rear? Also, will this damage the pump in any way?
I could kiss you…that fix just got me back on the road in time for our camping holiday…would not have figured that out myself in a thousand years…thank you so much Guy
Hi mate, did the new pulley alleviate the issue? I’ve seen a few with varying degrees of ‘wobble’ now with differing views on what’s normal and what’s not? I’ve got a slight one on mine and thinking I might just replace it for peace of mind (3.0sdv6 on 93k). Cheers bud
Great video, everything well explained 👍🏻 thanks for sharing, I’m surprised there’s not more on this issue as it is a common issue… mine has been like it for 12 months but it’s £900+ at a garage 😮
Hello Wardy, I thought that it was only old American cars that had left hand threads on the left hand side. The oilyness underneath looks as bad as my Landrover. At least it won't rust.
I had a horrible feeling you was tightening instead of loosining them nuts.if you look on the edge it shows you the way they go.you was lucky you didnt bust them nuts as theyre only brass.be carefull with them bearings,i haf mine done by a supposed profesional only for them to wear very quick because they had tightened them.apperentley they are designed to have some play in them.i had a 92 mulsanne s lwb but just couldnt gell with it.had it less than a year.i have the rolls version now,the spirit and love it.had it nearly 10 years now.great cars.look forward to you doing more on this.a new subscriber here.👍
You're a gem! The way you described the issue/problem matched mine perfectly. I had removed the dead battery for two days to give it a good charge. The alarm went off upon reinstalling the battery, rapidly flashing dash led lights etc. Seriously mate, thank you kindly. I have a 1999 Disco II, 250k miles. Other than the odd assortment of unusual issues, it's been a reliable workhorse for camping in the forest, pulling a 14ft. aluminum boat, kayaks, a 5'x8' utility trailer. 🤩⚓🇺🇸
The button is an inertia/shock sensitive switch to cut the engine in case of a heavy collision. You press it to reset. They can trigger if you knock it while working under the bonnet in that area, or maybe on their own? The EKA code can be found with a Nanocom diagnostic tool. You can input the code via the driver's door lock with the key inserted following the code sequence. Google it....
Hey , thanks for the vid , I had the same red dpf error and this just cleared it like a dream ! Thanks for showing how to do it , saved me so much time locating the sensor hose :D P.S. - Garage told me I had to get new DPF and Sensor for over £1200. It's a stark contrast to a £20 can of DPF cleaner and some effort. (also probably saved loads of time too knowing how slow garages operate). Cheers again , golden content !
It's an old French vehicle . . . what could go wrong? My first Disco 2 had the worst geabox in the world. After treating it with Amatech Metaltech 10 it became quite tolerable. Not so much like stirring concrete!
Hello Wardy, in general, looks pretty clean and in good condition for the living side. I wouldn't like to pull a gearbox out of one, but once out I would pull it apart and re-build. How hard to get another one from a wrecking yard? I haven't seen one of those vans here in South Australia, we have the smaller ones. I bought my first Peugeot, a 403, in 1970 and now we are on number 10, a 2011 308 Diesel wagon that my wife drives. I have had so little trouble with them, over the years.
My rear handbrake breaks ( I have discs all round with does inside the rear rotors ) are binding. I noticed today after taking center tin out to replace glow plugs they started to bind and make a thudding noise when they lock on. I'm sure it's both as I hear it twice lol. Also if I drive forward around 5mph and lift the hand break it thuds. No idea what it is as the bongos don't have wheel cylinders????? Open to advice 😅😅
Did far more challenging roads in my 2wd 😋 Lost both bump stops in the proces 😅 If you thinking you need 4wd bongo for double the price think twice. If you go slow and have descent tyres you will be fine with 2wd.
I've got a combo C had my thermostat explode on me looked like someone had a diarrhoea shit all over my engine bay. Previous dickhead owner put rad weld in it and over time it's obviously clogged the stat and boom. Fuming
Guys im having a non start problem on 2003 disco. TD5. It wasnt starting without me mashing the hell out of the throttle (i tried running the 5throttle fuel bleed for 10/11 times, still no improvemnt). Ive bought a new fuel pump (old one was 18 months old) fit it yesterday. And the absolute swine still isnt starting without tonnes of throttle. Ive done the above bleed 15 times.... still refusing to start without tonnes of throttle.... Whats happening?
Great video. Been a massive help. I've come stuck on that 13mm bolt by the water intake at the back of water pump. Any suggestions on tooling? I can't get the angle with a long socket. Cheers.
