Yes ! The original music would have been much better. I think I have the DVD. And, I posted "comment" without listening to the change in music. Now, the comment is NOT true. Why can not the original just be left to its own artistic beauty ? No need to detract from a beautiful artistic show.
Cyd is crisper in her movements than Fred in this clip. She was simply stunning in everything she did. Her steps in this dance were so precise and perfect! I don't think she gets enough credit among the Hollywood legends...
I wouldn’t say Cyd is necessarily “crisper” in her movements- the red dress exposed more of her body for us to *see* the precision, while Astaire’s suit covers him more and blurs his lines more. Besides this movie was released in 1953 … which made Fred Astaire 54 years old (born in 1899) compared to Cyd being 31 years old (born in 1922).
@@imweakfordeaky Great consideration! However, pointing out the age difference actually defends the description of Cyd being "crisper." The dress may carry merit though... Crisper or not, they sure are fun to watch!
Hard to believe that the fabulous Fred Astaire was about 53 here. Cyd Charisse was probably the best female dancer of the 1950's. Although she also appeared in two fun films with Gene Kelly ...I think The Bandwagon and Silk Stockings with Fred were her best.
