Shocked? Really? Stealth Jets aren't invisible. Just harder to detect. Lockheed is a country? Narrator said 1991 graphic showed 1981. The video implies the F-22 can't supercruise, it can. It goes on and on, but you get the point. Not to say the YF-23 wasn't a good jet, it was. The main reason it wasn't selected was the management of the program by Northrup Gruman, not the jet itself. I think the Japanese are making an excellent decision by updating the F-23 design. Why reinvent the wheel or start from scratch?

Jackasses don't understand how hypersonic missiles work. They don't understand that hypersonic missiles are specifically designed and coated with exterior layer of materials are specifically designed to endure extremely high temperatures even hotter than the sun. Moreover at hypersonic speeds the air around the missile will turn to hot that it will create its own energy field able to deflect and withstand a laser The air around it will turn to plasma. This plasma is enough to deflect radar waves which means you won't be able to track the missile on time. It will also mean that it will likely withstand a laser enough to hit the target at high speeds. Then you combine the fact that an attack on a aircraft carrier will consist of hypersonic, sea skimming supersonic and subsonic missile that will really screw you up. Plus there is another weapon that Aircraft carriers have no defense against. Under water AI drones packed with explosives, some of them super cavity drones that can go for hundreds of miles at speeds of 200 km to 300 km per hour. Aircraft carriers are obsolete. Good luck if you are stationed in one of them. You better know how to swim. You couldn't pay me $1 Trillion to be inside an AirCraft carrier in a major power conflict.
Hmmm, how many failed laser weapon projects have USA gone through... About 70? Meanwhile, who has laser weapons in active service? Russia. Who did USA start a war against while openly talking about how China is next? Oh right, Russia. Perfect way to make sure they will cooperate completely for the foreseeable future. Brilliant! How many years ago were the LCS supposed to get a module with an air defense laser? About a decade IIRC... And why didn't that happen? USA was unable to build the laser system. USA was completely unable to put together a functional modular system(despite the fact that little Denmark has one in service for a long time already). And the LCS is so massively overrun with costs that the money ran out. Looks real promising...
It maybe can intercept hypersonic missiles , if the laser weapon can be charge and ready to shot in 10 minutes or less because hypersonic missiles can strike any in range about 10-15 minutes
Yea right Was in news two day ago Air Force close down laser program. Russian equipment are outclassing us in all field m from scrambling guilded muscle to 30 multi launcher even our Abram tanks , to drone simple technology. Has to be valued way lower. We can’t even sustain / buikd ukrane needs
