It's probably the first time we saw Shizuna being more than just a battle freak. I really like her dynamic with Van so I would like to see more of them in the sequel. Who knows she might even be romanceable considering all the teasing.
@@aratabhistWe saw Falcom pushing Alisa the whole Cold Steel saga and later we see how that went lol, at this point people should just realize that Kondo can do whatever he wants 😂
@@aratabhist arguably, falcom told us the members of van's harem through Agnes during her confession. In addition to Agnes and Elaine, it includes Shizuna, as well as Risette and Judith. And Sarah (not the bracer). And Renne... Make of that what you will.
I don't like idea of shizuna as a love interest at all. I think falcom's doing really well with the closed off triangle and shouldn't dive back into the persona romance simulator, specially with a character like Van. Although I do love that this game gives Shizuna more agency over what she personally wants and cares about outside of her original circumstances, siding with the ASO out of her own will. I Specially like the detail of Kaede and Yun Kafai feeling a little bit proud in their dialogue about how she ended up choosing to side with them for the road ahead.
You lack knowledge on this love story if that's what you believe. You must be a new player because you have it backwards. Aerith x Cloud is about LOVE, a deep love that transcends even death itself, and Cloud always wanting to be with her, even after her death. Aerith is Clouds soulmate, and Cloud is Aerith's soulmate and no other love can replace that. Tifa, Barret, Yuffie, Cait Sith, Cid and Vincent are about friendship.
@@tomo-uu5mg Square Enix developers have made it very clear that the Gondola dates are fan service and not to be taken as part of the linear storyline. Like a mini game, it is just for fun. Only real fans, or original fans know the truth about who it is that Cloud is supposed to go on that date with. The date with Aerith is even depicted in the "Official Final Fantasy Symphony" in part 2 called "Words Drowned by Fireworks". Here is the description within the booklet explaining these FF7 Symphony musical movements: The second movement “Words Drowned by Fireworks” opens with a short introduction to Aerith through her theme before starting the titular song “Words Drowned by Fireworks”, portraying the date with her and Cloud. Manifestations of “Cloud’s Theme“ make appearances throughout, and the couple hit it off while chimes flutter around like birds, then fireworks cut in. At the end of this movement, it tells that Cloud chooses Aerith over Tifa, realizing his feelings for Aerith before Sephiroth takes her from him. Thus why he has such a revengeful hatred towards Sephiroth above all things. This even plays in Cloud and Aerith's Gondola date in FF7 Rebirth to the 'T'. True to the letter FF7 fans know this without being told. Assuming you are a new fan, and not having followed the continuing story for that past 3 decades, Cloud and Aerith have always been depicted as 'the couple' of FFVII, not Cloud and Tifa. In official FF7 shows, ads, games that came after, they have always promoted Cloud loving Aerith, and him always looking 'for her'. In one game Cloud and Aerith are even married. Tifa has only ever been depicted as the childhood friend, which is an overstatement because they never really knew each other. The correct description is 'childhood acquaintances'. Nothing more.
@@tomo-uu5mg Here's another Canon proof that Cloud loves Aerith above all others. In the Official Final Fantasy VII symphony it shows three [III parts], aspects of the game's setting. Gondola Date scene: “Words Drowned by Fireworks” plays during a scene where Cloud goes on a date with Aerith. The theme itself is a variation of “Cloud’s Theme”. After Cloud takes Aerith's hand, and interwines his fingers with hers, they both look intently at one another...then fireworks go off... they're speaking to each other, their lips are moving, but you can't hear what they're saying because the words are "Drowned by Fireworks". Explanation of the Final Fantasy VII symphony, part II.: The second movement “Words Drowned by Fireworks” opens with a short introduction to Aerith through her theme before starting the titular song “Words Drowned by Fireworks”, portraying the date with her and Cloud. Manifestations of “Cloud’s Theme“ make appearances throughout, and the couple hit it off while chimes flutter around like birds, then fireworks cut in. Afterwards, Aerith’s theme begins to play, but just before it fully blossoms the attention shifts back to Cloud for his exposition. His theme begins rather timidly as he begins to sort out his emotions. Fragments of Aerith’s and Tifa’s themes run throughout as Cloud’s theme becomes more confident, and his relationship grows with them. Just as Aerith is about to come back into the picture, Tifa’s theme cuts in almost intrusively and Aerith’s theme is drowned out. Then Tifa takes center stage, and Cloud’s theme makes a slight appearance with Tifa’s. But as Cloud remembers Aerith, he is left with a dilemma. Shrinking down, the second part of Cloud’s theme plays, again timidly as the birds return with Aerith, who tries to find her way back into his theme. Eventually the two cellos are able to harmonize, and Cloud realizes his feelings for her [Cloud chooses Aerith]. Her theme finally moves into full blossom, and Cloud’s theme intertwines perfectly with hers. Although they are able to find each other briefly, Sephiroth suddenly interrupts them, leaving things in disarray. Aerith and Cloud try to find each other again, as different fragments from each theme enter in on different keys in desperate attempts to return to harmony. Things become more dire as Sephiroth steadily resurfaces yet again. Aerith’s theme repeatedly strives to make it through but to no avail; Sephiroth impales her with his blade, all she can manage now is quick, laboured breaths. Sephiroth draws his sword out from her, and Aerith’s breaths slowly tapers off, until she breathes her last.
