Hi! I’m Jed the Pokémon Tycoon! I’m glad you stopped by! I really enjoy collecting Pokémon cards and for the most part I just focus on cards and artwork that appeal to me. We’re all different and we are all allowed to like different things! I’ll try and showcase cool stuff and maybe even some stuff you haven’t seen before! This channel focuses on the enjoyment of pokemon cards and tries to stay true to the child-likeness I had when I opened my first booster pack in the 90’s! A solid Yuka collection can be worth quite a bit actually! Although she has many common cards and continues to put out a variety of affordable cards to this day, MANY of her older cards (as her career spans more than 25 years I believe) are worth quite a bit. Especially rares and reverse holos. That said, even many of her old common cards are worth a good amount. Specifically anything from the Expedition collection. That series is gold! She also has really cool full art, promo, exclusively Japanese and even a jumbo card from 1997(her first ever card I believe). If you can’t tell, I’m a huge Yuka nerd…it’s pretty much all I care about collecting when it comes to Pokémon cards. If only I could afford one of those $450-$700 autographed cards off of eBay or like ANY of the old Japanese Pokémon Center promo cards! One day…🥹
Awesome video! Just wondering as someone who hasn’t bought/collected Pokemon cards but am planning to someday soon which Pokemon cards are better/rarer/valued more the Japanese cards or the English cards?
A lot of times the big chase cards are worth more in Japanese. They also can be harder to get! Japan doesn’t print nearly as many cards as the English, and that helps them hold value too. My advice to anyone getting into the hobby is to start small! Don’t buy something super expensive, because it might take a little bit of time before you really figure out what you like. English cards are nice because you can read them 😅 I recommend trying a little of both and just seeing what you like. Good luck and thanks for the support!
@@PokeTycoon sounds great! & i got 1 more question, i only know the Pokemon’s from gen 1 - gen 3 mainly & was wondering for those gens which booster packs/box sets would you recommand me to buy? & also what are the best variety/versions of the cards to keep because i have no idea? Lol & also i plan on collecting those Pokemon’s gen’s forsure
@@DripzV. definitely 151. It’s only the original 151 Pokémon, and the cards are beautiful. You might have better luck getting big pulls from the English stuff, but it’s getting a little more spendy. Not too bad but I’ve just been seeing it at some higher prices. The Japanese box of 151 (SV2A) is a very good deal if you grab one off eBay, anywhere from 65-75 is a great price. Anything else that you buy will be full of pokemon you don’t recognize (if it’s modern) or if it’s old/vintage cards-they are way too expensive to open. If you do go with English cards, booster bundles are a good value, and etb (elite trainer box) or upc (ultra premium collection) are all good choices.

I did have some stuff for sale on my eBay account, might post some more soon, but I haven’t wanted to do the box break thing 🤷♂️ maybe I’m too old-school. If the channel grows enough I’d invest in trying it I suppose!
Yesterday while I was doing some grocery shopping, I saw a mini tin box with Gengar as the cover art, so I just had to pick it up because I love everything Gengar. It's been literally years, maybe a decade since I last opened some packs, and I got 2 of these 151's. I hadn't had this much fun and nostalgia in a long time xD
It is an amazing set! Thanks for commenting 😊 and as someone who remembers opening packs in the late 90’s-it is very hard to beat the nostalgia levels!
If you look for the booster bundles online they go for $45 😳 it’s such a good set and we are moving forward fast… I think it won’t be long before English and Japanese 151 is pricey! I know I could open lots more 😊

We get Japanese and Chinese pretty easily, but no Korean unfortunately 😢 would love to rip some Korean! I had aa friend bring me some Thai cards. The text is very different 🎉 very kewl
U couldn't be more wrong about the info your giving about Twilight Masquerade .pull rates are extremely bad with this set ..actually prob one of worst pull rates since sun and moon era cards.boodter bundles are probably the worst formation to buy these cards as well .they have terrible pool rates . Etbs seem to have the best followed by the booster box .thanks for opening 👍
I’m just saying my experience. You should watch the booster bundle I opened. I think I had 4 hits from the 6 packs. And this booster box was really good for me. I didn’t even pull a main chase card and got my value back from the cards-pretty hard to do with Pokémon cards! It will be interesting to see long term data. When 151 came out I watched videos on “pull rate data” and they all said the pull rates were terrible. That was a big reason why I went to the Japanese set, but I’ve noticed the English pull rates are no where near as bad as when it first released or the pollsters claimed. Don’t think this data is absolute.

The kidney joke was beyond hilarious 😂 I keep pulling the zapdos with the 3 birds and ivysaur those cards seem to follow me I really was hoping for a charmander I might order a Korean set to keep trying
At this point the Japanese boxes are less than 100 and the Korean ones are over 50. I’d go Japanese the way it is now. You’re guaranteed something good in each box 🤷♂️ but the zapados card… that card is fire! I’d be fine with a few of those 😅
This is what i would classify as higher end bulk ( .75 - $3) I have roughly 2k bulk V, EX, GX, Vstar, etc). I think they are worth buying at the right price.
I agree with you that something is odd, but I have found super good deals before that weren’t fake! Because I have a channel I’m willing to find out for everyone 😊 I have gone through their comments reviews and still can’t find a comment complaining about fake cards-and they still are rated highly, even after selling lots of these! Bit of a mystery! I’d love to have you watch the follow up video and we’ll find out what’s up!
