I was raised in the military and was living on an Army base in '67 - '68. Soul music was the thing back then. Though I was a white boy in the 5th grade, the first album I ever bought with my own money was James Brown and his Famous Flames, Papa's got a Brand New Bag. I'm thankful to God I live in a world where this wonderful music exists. I love so many of his songs, and though I'm 67 years old, a week doesn't go by that I don't listen to his music. Love it that folks are dancing to it.
From Chicago and this song reminds me of my grandmother, may she rest in peace. She taught me how to dance but I remember this was her jam. Here I am still jamming to it. 💛
