I just came across these on my RU-vid channel purchased an Addy well actually purchased three of them the small one, the larger one in the egg, then I’m looking the year on the tutorial and got 😢 Please come back and post some more Lovies. I also like to use regular acrylic yarn for the first row or two and at the end the same. I tie my strands of both types of yarn firmly. I also pull out the tiny fibers and use the threads only to tie with. Many crochetets & knitters use this method. I use the acrylic so it is able to be tied more snug easily. The chenille yarn tends to be connected with threads and the little fibers are twisted into the 2 threads. (I use to have a small online yarn shop) I hope I've explained it so it's understandable.
A crafty concept is the original maker of the addi bear and when she posted about the cinch neck I was amazed! I don't mind making the cinch usually but since she did a head insert it truly needs to be exact. Absolutely brilliant.
The outer yarn is what makes them look fluffy but that can definitely be skipped. I personally wouldn’t make them single layer as they would not be as sturdy and the poly fill may come out.
Goto Joanns. They usually carry it all year round and it's usually on sale or you can use a 40-60% coupon. This would help drop the cost. You could even try a bit smaller balls.
