I followd this instruction and can confirm you do not have to use a solder device, just gently pick up the 2nd board and lift out the 1st board, take off d pad sticker, clean, apply new d pad sticker and place the 1st board back in, screw in so it doesn't left out when ur putting it back together, use a tweezers to place tiny ribbon cable back in, make sure that when putting back the back plate keep n eye on battery contact, my d pad was fucked, now its 100% thanks to this VIDEO!
My down on my d’pad works it’s just you have to press down hard to get it to work is that a spring issue or do I have to take it completely apart and fallow you’re guide or is it possible that it’s just the spring
The fucking dpad came out im so fucking pissed im going to fucking shoot myself I saved so much for that shit now its broken no way to fix it I cant describe how much I wanna beat my own ass for allowing this 200 dollar controller to break
Good and informative video. Maybe you could talk a little about what you have to keep attention on while doing stuff. Talking while working makes thinks more interessting. Also please keep an eye on the camera positioning. But thats kind of nitpicky. Keep doing your thing. :)
I really want to buy myself some kind of tools like heat gun; torx bits soldering machine and so on. For now i bought myself a new controller. :D But for the future i really need some tools. ^^ This "Xbox DPAD Conductive Film" is just 6,17€ shipping included and the new controller (series 2) is about 170€ so the argument why you should do it yourself is there.
My down D pad on my series x controller is stuck and it won’t correct itself. I have tried blowing in it and rubbing alcohol what should i do to fix it? Some help would be appreciated
Ik I’m here with a year old responds but it’s probably stick drift you could use the Xbox accessory’s app to check the input if you’re controller to determine if it’s stick drift or d’pad issues.
Just to let anyone know you can get to the board and remove it without a soldering iron. It just takes some patience and a different approach. Sorry no video if you needed one.
Yeah. was replaying that section and wondering if it is necessary. I don't have a soldering iron and experience and was really looking to avoid soldering. Probably need to take care and not break those solder though.
@@heyb6268 yes. you dont need to do any soldering to do this swap. You just need to carefully move the wire around to get things out. don't apply to much tension on the wires to prevent damage to the soldered ends.
