I've never really thought about having something like this happen to just let go of the steering wheel. And this guy did it so fast I only noticed it in slow motion. It's safe and smart after all he is chained to a big ole heavy brake.

Sadly the class he’s in it has to be a farm stock block. It’s a super modified farm stock tractor. Meaning the power adders is unlimited, i.e. turbo size or number of turbos, unlimited injection pump work, also bore size, stroke length, and cams, all the other goodies can be modified past stock. And that day they found the limit to that stock block. The limit to boost pressure anyways!
As a kid in the 70s I remember them running one or more engines on modifieds no fenders ,no helmet and no roll cage. Times have changed and a lot more safety features.
What. How did it “unload” the back tires. The front end was in the air. The bulge at the bottom never changed. At that point in the pull the box was halfway up. Furthermore. The RPMs never changed.
@@TheJohndeere466I agree completely. But you are right. This one did not. I have been pulling for ten years myself and watching from the pits since I was a kid. I am not trying to argue at all. I just do not like the people that act like they know what they are talking about because they know two words about pulling. So yes. If they hit the bars hard enough they will definitely loose the tires.
Those people have no sense of self preservation walking around that engine with it still winding down. Stay out of the radial path of the engine and exhaust! If a turbine disk comes loose or fragments... time & distance is all that's stopping it. We had an MD-87 at power on a ground run let go and it shot hot metal out the exhaust at least 300ft behind it!
