Waiting for my 14" MBP w/ M3 MAX to arrive. With 4TB SSD & 64GB Memory, this beast should power through everything I need it to. Upgrading from the 2019 intel MBP with the touch bar. I love the touch bar and will miss it alot. Iv read lots of reviews talking about issues with the touch bar but in the nearly 5 years I've had it, never have had an issue. Thanks for the video!
I never had an issue with my touch bar MacBook pro either and did like it for when I had it. Your new M3 Max MacBook is going to be a monster compared to your intel one! Super pumped for you and can’t wait to hear your experience with it 👍🏼
Can I try one? I have and they are great phones! All based on people’s UI preferences and needs. I enjoy the eco system with Apple and ease of use with their phones. Don’t need anything too crazy on my phone :)
Yea...what an ironic question? .....I bought end spec MacBook Pro in 2019 for 4k USD, I-9 processor, 32 gb ram, 1 tb, just to find out that m1 came out few months later.....yea my 2019 4k USD version failed me within first year, mother board got toasted, since it was under warranty it got replaced for free, my MacBook never worked the same since; .so should you wait for m4 or just buy m3? you decide.
Hey Tanner, I hope you are well. I visited your RU-vid channel and checked your content. You are doing great work. I also checked your thumbnails which are just OK. I can make them more professional and eye-catching so you will get high video CTR. If you are interested then let me know. I'll also offer a free thumbnail design to get an idea about my work. Looking forward to chatting with you. Regards, Mubashir Murtaza
Thanks for this!! ☺️ What’s your current MacBook configuration? I’ve been need a new pro as I just have an air right now and I’m looking to start long form video editing for YT etc 4K at least. I want to invest in something that will last several years. I was thinking, M3 pro with 12 CPU, 36 ram and 2 tb…I’m wondering if that’s enough or if waiting a month+ for m4 would make a difference 🙏🏼
Hey! So between the M3 pro/max and the M4 pro/max, you won't see a massive difference unless you're doing some very heavy 4k editing with layering a bunch on top. You wouldn't regret getting the M3 now but we are maybe a month away for when they might release the M4 so I would hold off and maybe wait since you could get the M3 for even cheaper or get the new M4 for the price of the M3 now. I currently have the M3 Max with 36gb of unified memory and I've been loving it ever since I got it almost a year ago :)
@@TannerBiggan cool! Thank you so much 😊 I just watched your other video & subscribed! I think you’re right but I may need to get it sooner for work in case m4 chip is delayed. Do you think upgrading the M3 Max chip was worth it? I’m sort of between upping the storage to 4 tb or the chip to max (or both lol) seems weird to have less GPU on the m3 pro vs the m2 chips…thinking of best bang for buck but also future proofing as much as possible ☺️🙏🏼
@@JustineCooksVegan if you get the M3 Max, you’ll be future proofed for a few years for sure! You wouldn’t regret getting it and waiting for the M4 max it won’t be such a massage upgrade for us RU-vidrs and video creators to really see a difference. If you’re stressed on time and needing one now because your current one is that slow in rendering and exporting or not being able to handle 4k, then I’d say hop on the M3 Max for sure! You’ll love it
@@TannerBiggan awesome! Thanks so much for the feedback Tanner. 🙌🏼 I’m heavily considering going with the max chip now :) how much memory and storage do you think compliments the max capabilities?
If i see my M1 MBA (16/256) upgrading is not an issue as perfomance is outrageous compared to intel devices, as i'm not earning my money with that device it cannot calculated on a business base, and for sure an M2 or M3 wouldn't be faster in real life usage (of course in synthetic benchmarks) if i'm limited in my usage in terms of CPU count, GPU count or RAM that would be a valid reason for upgrading, but than it wouldn't be simple Generation upgrade but a simple Tier upgrade Base Chip to Pro or Max Chip. Its the same with your boss if you want a better device (higher tier or just newer) his question ist solely "how does it pay off" if it doesn't pay of in a reasonable amount of time he wouldn't grant the upgrade. So simple if something is not supported anaymore its a valid reason, if something is broken its a valid reason. A new colour, or a justa "Nice to have" Feature is not really a valid reason. o.K. don't discuss the colouzr topic with your wife she sees it completely different.
When its repair price almost same as new one or they are not giving security update anymore. Ps. We dont buy a new one easily because dolar to try is ×34.06 so it is way way more expensive in turkey and North cyprus.
Macbook arm based chips are so amazingly good that after having my first bnew macbook air m1 base variant since 2021 I now upgraded to a used macbook pro m1 pro 16 inch because my previous air m1 is still a beast of a laptop but I just can't refuse urge to finally get my dream macbook which is the m1 pro 16 inch for a very low reasonable price of more than half of the bnew..
I aint getting m4pro till they bring back the 200gb/s bandwidth and cores same as or more than m2pro. Heck i will also not get it till they wont give tandem OLEDs on em. Or either reduce the price.
I want an answer, and I hope that id get it quick. Im starting high school in about 5 days. I've reserved a MacBook Air M3, should I go ahead and buy it or wait for the M4. I feel like I do not want to wait. I want expert answers if an M3 would be enough for basic school things. Maybe a side of entertainment too.
@@TannerBiggan I do not want to annoy you with my comments, just wanted to tell you that I am currently writing this comment using the M3. Thank you once again for your helpful video
Silly question as it all comes down to your needing and budget. As soon as M4's will be out, the new M5 will be announced ... and so on. So, the real question is: do you need a new Mac now? If the answer is yes and you find a good deal ( which is easy to find now as M4's Mac are coming) go and buy it. If you don't need one, wait. After you'll decide if the new Mac is worth the money. In my modest opinion, M4 Macs will not be a huge step from M3, since they share the same 3 nanometers design. Yes, it will be 20%??? faster than M3 in benches, but benches mean almost nothing in real life usage. That 20% that will benefit maybe 1% or less of Mac users, for 99% of users will be literally 0 increment. Yes, battery life will be better: half hour with same configuration? Let's be serious.
Still running a 2017 MacBook Air - Intel-based 128GB SSD with 8GB of RAM for photography, videography, digital media, visual effects, DJing, etc. I NEED to upgrade to the M4 Macbook Pros by next year😂
I would highly recommend it if you’re able to! You’ll see a massive jump as I’m sure you know 👍🏼 love hearing the work you’re doing and really getting the most out of your MacBooks!
I’m indecisive if I should wait for the New M4 or get the M3 Pro. So, I currently don’t have a Laptop, and I am starting University this September. The Course I would be doing is Games Development. Should I wait or get the M3 Pro?
I'm considering getting an M3 Max MB Pro soon, to replace my Dell XPS 17 9710. The dell is still doing well, it's got a 11th or 12th gen intel i7 8 core with 64Gb Ram and 4TB of storage I upgraded myself. But Apple has a lot more pros for Music Production which is my passion/career path. I think I'm gonna get an M3 Max MBP and get the M4 Max Mac Studio next year.
I had AirPod pros original nothing but issues sent in twice and always fell out of ears so I bought the 2nd gen non pros and love them I actually prefer the longer stem. 🤷🏼♂️
great answer: if you have an M2, wait. if you don’t, it likely doesn’t matter! ps, i’d add that you can find great deals on m3 right now just before m4 launches
If I buy a Samsung 24 ultra ,and it costs as much as an iPhone, I get a full blown desktop mode if I plug it in a UsbC dock. Where I can literally run windows in a VM! As much as I love my I-Devices, it’s really hard not to want to switch.
I’m still will be sticking to my current iPhone 15 maybe till 2027! Not buying any new iPhone! Happy to use my current iPhone 15, S9 45mm Watch and also my AirPods 3rd Gen on me daily life usage! 🙂
Pretty much everyone who has a 15 should not upgrade to the 16. For me, it's a business expense not only for content but because it's part of my business.
every time I hear "design change" it is a mark of an idiot. I do not care what brand we are talking about, the perfect design is one and just one. Once you reach or are very very close to that perfect design, you are producing a worst design then before. Yes you and every other content creator from individuals to big media, are asking for worse design for the public becasue you have nothing to report on. Imagine beeing that scum of the internet. Honestly the bset design so far was Note 9, 2nds best was iPhone 4 that we still have in a worse iteration, and people like you are asking for an even worse design becasue they have nothing to write about. In a perfect world you would not exist, becasue there would be no problems to report on. So you not have something to report is a GOOD THING.
it’s REALLY hard to stay with apple now 💀 in 2 years when i’ll want to upgrade and they won’t change shit.. i’ll probably try out an android because i can’t be asked with the constant yearly disappointment.. i hope nothing phone creates a high end phone because i kinda like them and they’re similar to iphone style
Ya we will probably see a design change on the 17's at best. But they definitely have to do something to step up their games against competitors these days.
iPhone season around the corner, I’m sure the bigger sizes will do great. I don’t want it but I wonder if the base Pro being 6.3 will finally help the smaller Pro beat its regular base iPhone counterpart in battery tests, that seems like a good change and distinction I’d leave for the Pro series so I’m sure it’ll be a worthwhile change. The extremely thin bezels are crazy and make old bezels on the 13s seem big in comparison. The 16s seem solid but based on the rumors of Apple’s release plans through the next couple years I’m leaning towards using my 13 mini till it’s no longer supported.
That’s why I was talking about the rumours that are online from credible sources. And I even stated at the beginning of the video that these are rumours and may not be true at all. Just a guessing game we’re playing and giving ideas on what we might see come the release. I can tell you there will be some sort of black colour though lol
I think the 13 series in general is the best modern iPhone; it’s gets the job done for pretty much anyone. I went from the 13 to the 13 Mini last November and my only complaint with the base models is that they’re weaker in low light than the pros so I just got the 13 Pro to sample and I’m surprised at how close it feels to the 13 mini, my base 13 felt bigger. I’m planning to stay with this series but even the base 16 is tempting with it’s redesign and some quality upgrades, the SE4(rumors suggest it can be rebranded as the Air) redesign is tempting as well since I generally use the main lens but for recording when I’m able to, the Pros will generally be better for the low light talking head videos.
Great description for the iPhone 13! Could not have said that better 👍🏼 I doubt the 16 will be much of a redesign. I feel they’ll wait for the 17 to do that and possible have the rumoured iPhone Air released with the 17 as well but I could be wrong!
@@TannerBiggan yeah, it’s not a huge redesign but I do like that the camera realignment will shrink the camera module footprint on the back of the phone. Personally in the past I wanted Apple to redesign the Pro to have leather backing and plastic sides for that camera type feel but at that point it’ll become more of a niche phone like Sony since it’d be adopting a different design. If I were to redesign a Pro right now I’d add a 4th lens so the layout would be; telephoto, wide, ultra wide and Periscope. Have the positioning stay the same and add it where the lidar sensor is then move the lidar either next to it or on top of the new lens and next to the other two.
I generally agree that you can't chase tech and I generally also agree with your review, with one exception. The M4's are going to boost the neural engine of the chip to outperform the M3, core counts will stay the same but M4 will be able to handle 38 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) vs 18 TOPS of the M3. This is where the real decision needs to be centered on, imo. Overall performance of an M3 vs M4 will likely be negligible but in the age of ML/AI we are in we need to pay attention as ML/AI is going to move very fast, and hardware will need to move fast with it. I am currently looking at upgrading my 2019 Intel Macbook Pro with either the M3 or waiting for the M4 and I personally may just wait for the M4 to ensure I get the best AI hardware available to "future proof" myself as much as possible. Every major piece of software will start to embed some of ML / AI into their applications. Apple Intelligence will also leverage this specific hardware.
@@Explosion-of-consciousness Very well said! I would wait for the M4 if you can. That’ll be such a massive upgrade for yourself coming from the intel 👍🏼
Honestly just upgrade your iPhone when it’s 5 years old. But that would be a waste of money since your iPhone works perfectly but if it doesn’t work that perfect just upgrade man
Ya it’s totally based on people’s needs and if it’s worth it for them since everyone is different. My sister has an iPhone X still. Just needs a new battery but works great for her!
My 12 Pro Max is doing well, but Apple Intelligence has me thinking. I’ll get it on my iMac, but it seems more useful to me on my phone. I normally wait until devices break, get old and therefore run long enough. Depends what next year and the battery does
The battery on the 16’s is supposed to be getting an upgrade from the rumours. The AI is cool but at the moment I don’t find myself needing to use it very often. Just at the start to play around with it but yes it most likely will become a part of our everyday the more we use it and the better it gets.
My M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16" with 16GB RAM (Unified Memory) has been struggling with 1080p video editing in Premiere Pro for 2 years now. But everything else like InDesign, Photoshop, and Office 365 work perfectly. I'm waiting for the M4 Pro MacBook Pro 16" to replace my M1 Pro.
The M4 Pro should be a massive jump for you! Sorry to hear it’s struggling in Premier pro. I feel like that’s an Adobe issue but then again it could also be some throttling issues with the M1 Chip.
