Notice the more slanted headers. It was a non official NHRA event so tascas team went back to the headers that would bring all the big speeds 5 years ago for this event, that's why nobody's else's speed was close
Valid question. I'm glad we had the beer wars for all those years (Bernstein/Dixon) but I could never understand how alcohol companies escaped the same bans that tobacco encountered. If anything, alcohol and racing is more a grey area than tobacco.
It’s funny how here it is 2024 and the tobacco industry is still here. It hasn’t left. People are still smoking more than ever and people still want to drag race more than ever. You should bring wisdom back to drag racing this week. Everybody can be happy, especially the fans
Agree with you 100% on this. Winston and Winfield did more good for the sport than anything else. Most fans recall the tobacco era as a golden age for the sport and the opportunities it unlocked. Thanks for watching!
A whole lot of factors for sure. I'm sure there are racers, stakeholders and those directly involved that could add many layers to this story. Thanks for watching!
When you want to go fast you just hit the little button and spray some NOS. Then when you are going to get caught, you burn down the shop with everything and say you can't rebuild - nice try MOPAR CHEATERS. The hemi was like the Boss 429 based engines. You couldn't get enough compression at 500ci with those big combustion chambers. Sad but true, I'm a Ford guy and loved Bob Glidden, but even he had to use the juice illegally to be competitive near the end of his career.
no one is to blame it takes two stubbron people to inter into a burn down if you know a driver likes to stage last stage first {fast] give them there due I raced for years no games the sooner I was ready the better my lites where [reaction time] a person can get in there own head trying to get in yours
Warren Johnson is and always will be an ass. Bob Glidden shut him down so many times all he could do was cry to NHRA because his pos Chevy powered crap couldn't beat a Ford!
The sad part about NHRA if you don't have a million-dollar sponsor you don't have a chance in hell with the NHRA and there's no entertainment anymore the staging Wars was considered entertainment
Rick Stewart was always a joke. Nobody really cared for him. Imagine a button pusher thinking they are the star of the show. Buster was a clown as well. Nobody in racing respected either one of these guys.
That's why Nostalgia Pro Stock is making its way to the top you'll see Expedition runs at NHRA but you can catch Nostalgia Pro Stock at local tracks a lot of them does not have lanco transmission as such as mine because I can't afford it
It's a real pity that Heathcote Park has gone south since. A lot of potential there, but Lance is a selfish prick and no longer pays anyone to work there.. expects "passionate volunteers", generally treats everyone like a financial burden.. owes money to many companies and individuals. Top Fuelers wont be back again anytime soon.
