I own a small collection of reproduction tin toy robots originally manufactured in 1960s Japan. Tin toy robots from 60s Japan are the best in my childhood recollection. For a long while in the 2000s you could find modern reproductions some of these Japanese toy robots, manufactured sometimes in China. Not so much today.
I am 71 years old and I had a Mr. Machine when I was a kid. 1960 sounds about right. The one I had could be dissembled. The ratchet in the winding mechanism broke so I took it apart and fixed it by bending up the edge of some brass tabs. It took me a while to put it back together because I had thrown away the instructions on Christmas morning along with the box. I would take it apart and ask male guest to help me put it back together. When they gave up I would quickly put it back together. After I pulled this trick a few times my parents got annoyed and it disappeared. I bought another one a few years ago but like the one in your video it is riveted together. I think it is a later reproduction.
I'm on a mission to collect as many bipedal modern humanoid robot toys, merchandise, art prints etc. as possible, glad to see someone else like me. Except he doesn't have as many concerning mental issues as myself- Cool video :]
Good video series, very different pace than things like antiques roadshow, this is more of like a collector study which I think is good. I already knew all of this about phonographs but I’m sure I will find some other videos in your series that educate me more
At about the 4:06 mark, Jack states that "Magnesium" was used to make purple insulators. Actually it is manganese that does this. Magnesium is highly explosive when it comes in contact with water.
I couldn't have said it better. Jack was my original mentor as a young insulator collector 35+ years ago, and I'm not sure there was ever a nicer human being. Somehow RU-vid popped this into my suggestions and it was good to see my old friend once again.
Hi. Thanks for asking! Easy answer... We just couldn't get the networks to listen or believe in our idea. However, we are proud of what we created on our own! Take care!
at 9:08 that's my organ! You can hear plenty of it on my channel. Great job Nancy. What she did not disclose is that she is the current Reed Organ Society president. Our leader!!
