1 Tebaldi. the best voice here. Лучший голос здесь. Лучшие верхи. 2 Milanov. It's classic. "То, что доктор прописал" ), в смысле, то, что Verdi - написал. Мощно, точно и традиционно. 3 Callas. Думала поставить третьей Ponselle, но у Callas все-таки больше глубины, ярче и сильнее нюансировка, эмоциональная, прежде всего. 4 Ponselle. Красивейший голос и впечатляющая харизма. Надо сказать, эта певица знала, как увлечь публику. По манере воздействия на публику чем-то Юсси напоминает (Bjorling, I mean). 5 Caballe, наверное.. не нравится живое выступление, а студийное - хорошее, но студийное ) 6 Cerquetti. Очень талантливая певица, но все время впечатление, что ей или что-то мешает, или она чего-то опасается.. как-будто голос не совсем созрел. В чем была ее проблема? мне непонятно .. 🤔 может, слишком открытое пение? 7 Zeani. интересно получилось ) 8 Rethberg. хорошее исполнение, в общем, но ощущение какой-то скованности.. и салонности ) 9 Price. великая певица, но здесь мне не нравится 10 Marton. По-моему, это не совсем ее репертуар. Ну и далее: Urman... ) зачем она пела эту партию - я не знаю, но впечатлила, конечно ) Varnay, Gencer, Millo, Chiara.. ну, ничего, нормально ) Radvanovska, Sweet, Dimitrova, Varadi, Stemme.. - неплохие певицы, но либо запись - не очень, либо Аида - не для них
Thanks for sharing. Miss Norman was, is and ever will be a goddess. Her beautiful voice, her timbre, her musicality, diction and knowledge of the languages she spoke and sung are incredible. A real diva.

Les comparaisons entre des artistes de la même classe ne sont pas pertinentes car chacune possède un talent unique. Ma génération (gens nés entre 1950 et 1960) a été comblée en cantatrices extraordinaires. Un grand bonheur de pouvoir les réécouter 🤩
Thank you for posting this, La Verrett had supreme authority of her instrument! She could sail from these low, florid roles, turn around and sing Tosca, Lady Macbeth. This voice couldn’t be put in a box! Brava La Verrett!!!
This is very interesting. She really doesn’t fit into soprano or mezzo categories. Sometimes I like her mezzo roles better, but she has better facility with the high notes here. I miss the strength of the low notes that Horne gives, but Verrett has great flexibility! Thanks for posting!!!
She had to manage her preparation of Lady Macbeth. In a sense this Rossini helped her with the Macbeth's Brindisi. But she wouldn't keep the weight she had years before on her low medium and low register, the round sound she had in l'Africaine for example, 3 years before.
The voice has a beautiful timbre and there's no apparent effort in any part of the role. I understand your comment. Its obviously a superior voice and technic but not easily categorised.
