Good video thanks! So many try to demonize the whole Portland metro area as if there's absolutely nothing good there and I can say there's problems in every State in its own ways! I've lived in so many States and parts of the country and seen a lot no matter what it is! Gresham looks really nice to me! Just a matter of being able to afford it!
This is literally NOTHING! Compared to California. However, it’s sad and the gov need to come up with solutions for them and stop worrying about other countries.
Good! I wish more people would leave, especially if they vote democrat! The kinds of people that moved here have voted this place into a shite hole, thanks a lot A-holes!
I grew up in the Northeast (New Jersey) but have lived here since 2019. It seemed friendlier in even 2017, but would ya believe that I think it's so cold, rude and isolating here? Definitely NOT a city for Autistics, despite the liberal utopia that it's pretended to be...
Mt Tabor Park is directly located east of Downtown Portland, but geographically, the City of Portland situates the park in Southeast Portland which makes no sense at all.
THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY HOMELESS CAMPS ANYWHERE IN AMERICA!!!! Just cause other cities have it don't mean it's acceptable. All of this is on purpose. The are trying to change the face of America and turn it into a 3rd world country. Y'all need to quit gas-lighting people.
High taxes High rent High home prices High cost of living. High crime High homeless population High car accident deaths. Lots of racism Bad roads. Bad schools You should move here.
At least you actually acknowledged there are serious negatives. Obviously you'll pick racism as the problem but in fact its leftist rule for 3 decades . Very far left incompetent people run it . all of you are very badly educated and very cultish in your little cliques. You're totally in an echo chamber and very very navel gazing
I live in Philly and I, for a while now, have been looking around the country to potentially relocate. The PNW is absolutely beautiful and Oregon and Washington seem like the easiest way to move there and, you know, have work. People complain about the 3.8% City income tax, which on top of the State 3.5% income tax, adds up, but it's still cheaper than a lot of places. Including Oregon. That said, the woes of a city and it's crime rate really do get oversensationalized in the media. Has it gotten worse since the pandemic? Yes. But realistically, the neighborhoods that are in decline have been in decline since the 80's, and many wouldn't be in decline if it weren't for gentrification in other neighborhoods pushing the poverty and crime to other blue collar neighborhoods. It's cyclical and it always has been. But suburbanites who live 30 minutes away thinking the city is a barren wasteland of lawlessness are completely delusional and have never really seen our city for what it is.
REVERSE MEASURE 110. All hard drugs are decriminalized in small amounts..heroin and cocaine and lsd and methamphetamine and bill 2645 just passed so you can now can carry up to 5 grams of fentanyl before it's considered a misdemeanor... mental illness and legal drugs and crime and Ted Wheeler and Tina kotek NEED TO BE FIRED. ❤️. Born and raised in Portland Oregon 👊🏽💪🏽🌹 STOP DOWN PLAYING MY CITY I LOVE. IT'S GONE TO SHIT ...ITS EVERYWHERE!!!
Obviously is liberal policies. We can actually see them in action, in real time. High taxes are completely DNC related and high crime is too ( because the dnc has taken the position that if you believe in law and order, it means you're racist). Unfortunately, just like all of the other liberal cities that are horrible (Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans, San Francisco, Chicago, St. Louis etc...), the worse it gets, the more they vote DNC. So these cites have NO HOPE
I owned a two homes in Multnomah County. The last home lost about 50000 dollars of value between 2020 and 2023. I attribute this to the worship of BLM and the subsequent defunding of police services. BLM and PDX-SUX.
@@trishadirksinPortlandI like your channel and I think this is true what was said in this short clip - when people look back and say I should’ve bought, they should keep in mind that at this time, monthly payments are out of balance with wages and salaries for most people, and there’s not much to choose from, so you have to make alot of compromises in terms of location and style of house - if things start moving and rates drop but prices go up, there will be much more to choose from and possibly more affordable payments (though the overall price will be higher).✌️
I live in Texas, and we don’t have a state income tax, but property taxes are double in Dallas, TX compared to Portland, OR. Yes, I just checked, double! I am wanting to relocate to Portland. Texas is also over 100 degrees for like 3 months. 🥵
I wouldn't move here,it's awful...born&raised here,it changed so much everyone is to the point of moving out...😮the locals are fed up...everyday is some kind of strike or riot, shootings, lot's of traffickers & drug user's, always have to watch your house& vehicle, driver's are really bad😮so many murders they won't tell anyone about, prayers for this beautiful city...what's really sad, some people have no other place to go,you have to go find a new home❤💯🙏🌹🌲
My home/housing situation has and would not allow me to choose this house, in its environment and setup. I believe in SPACE. This parcel of land would not let me live my best life.
We live in a large, very popular city and it has the same problems as Portland. One of our kids lives in Portland so we travel there many times a year and we love it. We’ve looked at buying a condo there but we’ve been shocked by maintenance fees and property tax. It’s really expensive where we live but it’s higher in Portland. (Edit, we live in another state, not Oregon)
I am an lgbt person who will soon move from Turkey to Portland Oregon, I want to move for university, what can you suggest me for everything including health life and university?
