If you're having any issues with the script in my this video, I've created a new one that explains the topic with voice narration and step-by-step instructions. You can watch it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IkIItoyttKE.html.
Hello...Nice work. Do you have any idea that if we select the drop down list, the text field in the from should be auto populated from the cells of ms excel?
Hi, this is really helpful. However, when I create stamps in Adobe Acrobat, the script doesn't seem to run. I have pasted the pdf to the correct directory, can you please show how you were able to add a new category and add the stamp to Acrobat?
Awesome video. I do Building INspections and my problem is that I am unable to use the values from the same drop-down multiple times within the same cell of the table in MS Word. Can you kindly suggest any solution to this. If you have any video on this, kindly refer me to that please. I give you an example of my problem. I go to inspect a house and I find a defeat. So to define that defect in few different ways, I have values in my drop down. With normal drop down list, you can only use one value at a time from the same drop down menu. However, If I am able to use that same drop down menu to populate the same cell, with multiple value from the drop down menu, that will will make my life easy and less prone to other legal issues I may face.
Would you be able to explain how to create several stamps in a single category? For example, Exhibit stamps needed for legal work. I've found a set online, but I'd like to create my own styles in addition to the ones they've included. Thank you!
@@sarservices Okay, so I created a separate PDF and used the same Doc Title, then combined both into a single PDF. The first stamp works, but the second one looks exactly like the first one, even though the stamp image is different. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help!
@@sarservices P.S. What I'm trying to do is create a file like this with completely different Exhibit images for the stamps: www.utd.uscourts.gov/sites/utd/files/Exhibit-Stamp.pdf
Unfortunately, I can't read the javascript in the video. Can you copy and paste it into the description? Thank you! NEVERMIND! Someone kindly provided it below. I didn't want to copy anything incorrectly, and at high resolution, some of the characters were too small to read. I used it and created my first dynamic stamp. THANK YOU!
There are some essential elements included that are not included here. Like how to name and use the bookmark he calls "Field1" when he doesn't tell you where to use it later. You also have to use CTRL+9 for every instance of brackets in your code. You CAN NOT simply type the brackets. It doesn't do anything. Way too simple. If you got this to work for you, great. It just made me mad for an hour.
I am trying to edit an existing document that I have that already has a table in place. I want to edit this document so that whatever entry I select on the table it will also populate said word in a title text box a few entries below. I have tried following the steps in this video but it doesn't seem to work, maybe I am doing something wrong? would appreciate your assistance or if you could comment the formula in the description or in a comment so I can copy and paste to make sure I am not typing it in wrong. Thank you !
Good afternoon, I have wrote your script and is saying that i have an syntax error before statement 3: at line 4, can you help me please see text below; var dropdownValue = this.getField("Dropdown24").value; swithch(dropdownValue) { case "The Network Building(551)": this.getField("Text26").value = "KIER" break;
I tried this several times and the text box never populates with text. I even recreated your exact example and the text boxes are still blank. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
The script is not in front of me, so I can't tell what the issue might be, but make sure theres no spelling mistakes and one more thing, JavaScript is case sensitive.
The script is not in front of me, so I can't tell what the issue might be, but let me assure you that the version doesn't matter for running this JavaScript.
I got it to work! I had a space before the both semi colons and that was the problem. I had hoped to do two "multi- line" text fields and be able to keep typing and editing the previous text field and have the overflow populate the second field box but that doesn't happen. I mean it does but not fully.....Any added text to the first box adds to the end of the last line in the second box instead of from the left margin ...hope that wasn't too confusing. Try it, make two multi line text fields and let the text fill in so that the text jumps to the second box. then add more text in the first box. Or try to add text from the left margin of the second box. If you could figure out how to make the two text fields editable and continuous I would pay you for that! Thanks
@@critkillen252 I understand what you're trying to do. Unfortunately, you can't backspace from one field to a previous one; this method has some limitations. You may need to consider alternative approaches to achieve the desired functionality.
Thanks, this video was very helpful. I have a question: I’m a contractor, and I’m building a subcontractor agreement form. Is there a way to have a clickable hyperlink to Google Maps? Here’s the catch: when you start typing the address in the address text box, is there a way to link an API to Google Maps that auto-populates the address as you’re typing? I have a Google Dev account, but I’m not sure how to embed the address to be an active search box that links the address text bar and reads as the actual address, not just a hyperlink to Google Maps. Sorry if that is confusing, I’m confused 😂
I am about to go nuts! I have created a drop down list (field a), a dependent drop down list(field b) , and now I need to autopopulate the 3rd field based on what they select in the dependent field (field b). How in the heck do I do that? Thanks😊
Is this possible with a Yes/No return instead of a numerical value. Example: If TotalExp < DI = No (Additional Seed Funding) If TotalExp > DI = Yes (Additional Seed Funding)
I found the code he used and it works for me...here it is if (app.viewerVersion < 11) { import_pre_11(); } else { import_11(); } and // Initialize attachment number attachment_num = 1; // Initial location of file attachment icon // The x value is incremented below var oFAP = {x_init: -72, x: -72, y: -72}; // Below lower-left corner of the page function import_pre_11() { if (app.viewerType === "Reader") { app.alert({ cMsg: "You must user Reader version 11 or later to attach files to this form.", cTitle: "Attach File Error", nIcon: 3, nType: 0 }); return; } // Prompt user to import a file app.alert({ cMsg: "Click the OK/Open button after selecting the file from your system that you want to attach.", cTitle: "Attach File", nIcon: 3, nType: 0 }); try { var rc = this.importDataObject("Attachment" + attachment_num); if (rc) { attachment_num += 1; app.alert({ cMsg: "Attachment successful. Open the Attachments panel to access the attached file(s).", cTitle: "Attachment Successful", nIcon: 3, nType: 0 }); } else { app.alert({ cMsg: "Attachment cancelled.", cTitle: "Attachment Cancelled", nIcon: 3, nType: 0 }); } } catch (e) { app.alert({ cMsg: "Could not attach file.", cTitle: "Could not attach file", nIcon: 3, nType: 0 }); } } function import_11() { try { var annot = addAnnot({ page: event.target.page, type: "FileAttachment", author: "Form user", name: "File Attachment", point: [oFAP.x, oFAP.y], contents: "File attachment on: " + util.printd("yyyy/mm/dd HH:MM:ss", new Date()), attachIcon: "Paperclip" }); annot.cAttachmentPath; // Prompt user to select a file to attach oFAP.x += 18; // Increment the x location for the icon } catch (e) { app.alert({ cMsg: "Could not attach file. Please report this error.", cTitle: "File attachment error", nIcon: 3, nType: 0 }); } }
