The FED needs numbers to justify keeping rates high in order to save the USD. They know if they cut rates they'll initiate Weimar Germany 2.0 collapse here in the US, which would spread globally to everyone that uses USD. That would lead to driving everyone into the arms of BRICS and the USD would NEVER regain Teir1 asset status again. USA would become 3rd world overnight.
