about the painting of the birth of venus by Sandro Boticelli: Boticelli had a model /muse that was often seen in his work, including that one it, i forgot her name but the art revival i think posted about it on instagram!! very interesting
Hey i was actually your old subscriber when you posted videos on self improvement you remember you posted a pdf on how to change your life guide Can i get that please It was really cool and helpful Sorry for the trouble tho !
Okay but adding to discussion and regardless of what everyone says, I think there are just people we find objectively attractive even if we don't necessarily know why. It's probably a closer link to biology and whatnot and yes, beauty standards exist, but there's always going to be some celebrity out there that is well known for being attractive and yet they have a feature or features that isn't considered part of the standard. There are gorgeous people with flat noses, monolids, chubby cheeks, big foreheads, crooked noses, thin lips, etc the list goes on almost anything you can think of. So, going back to the discussion I don't really think there will ever be an answer to this sort of topic about what defines physical beauty and why. Everyone has different tastes on what they like, and they can go against beauty standards but at the end of the day, most of us can still recognize that objective beauty wether it fits the current trends and standards or not. The Kardashians once stood out from the skinny trend and they were still considered beautiful then- that's something to think about.
I find spiders beautiful, my husband finds them terrifying. I think beauty is often perspective. “Health and fertility” is BS as the mega thin trend that still persists literally kills fertility. Many speculate its origins being from the “tragic beauty” of young Victorian women who were dying of consumption. Then there’s the fact that dead young women have ALWAYS been seen as things of beauty. Literally dead. There’s also the vast number of men who are attracted to teenagers (men who parrot “it’s fine, she’s legal!” When a 50 year old man dates a 18 year old, who would certainly be fine with younger if younger was legal) despite the fact that teenagers who give birth are far more likely to die of complications than a woman over the age of 22. You can not convince me that 80-90% of beauty standards are not expressions of the patriarchy rather than biology. (Though I wouldn’t say YOU were trying to do that, that’s a general you. You, as the creator of the video, gave a very balanced outlook)
Hey now, stop dogging on us mint ice cream lovers. Remember? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. Or in this case, tongue 👅 Edit: if you’re on mobile, pls be careful of the “double click”
I’ve always liked that classic beauty, it had no flaws literally. And Aphrodite mostly had ginger hair with pale skin and blue eyes as she was the “beauty standard” in Ancient Greece. Even in slave markets men would choose redheads not only it was a rare beautiful desired hair colour, but they would say that redheads give good luck. Even Achilles was described to be redhead or strawberry blonde.
I just rather work on myself before presenting what i worked on to people that care. It's only temporary isolation, the plan is to eventually intergrate back into society not be alone for ever
I believe working on yourself is a continuous process, not something that is achieved in a specific time period. Temporary isolation can easily turn into permanent isolation because the root of the mindset is: "I have to dissapear to work on myself. / I have to work on myself before I can be deserving of presenting myself into society." The truth is you don't need to do this, you can present your 'flawed' version to your loved ones and work on yourself alongside them.
Are you blind? Shes literally always depicted with red hair and tou say blonde??????? 🤡 What is this goofy mess of a mockery? Yes she has long wavy RED hair, pale skin and blue eyes. This is very well known. Why say it like that, like "is this what you imagine her as" as if its wrong? Also why are you doing this video at all? Why not do it focused on a diety from your own culture instead of one thats not yours that you clearly cannot even accuratly describe a painting of?😂
Why are you so upset? I too have seen her mainly depicted with somewhat golden hair. It's often from what I have seen, been a subtle orange colour, often written down as golden or even blonde. If you can't understand why she made this video, then it's quite telling about you
@@Ariifas-r1w Why are you speculating about the emotions of strangers online instead of focusing on the words they are actually saying? Very strange nolifey behaviour. Oh really, youve seen a ginger depicted with somewhat golden hair? 🤡 Wow thats so wild, its not like all ginger hair is literally golden in the sun 🤡🤡🤡🤡 SUBTLE ORANGE = GINGER 🤡🤡🤡🤡 What is your purpose with this comment?????????? Just to show off to me that you dont understand colors or meanings of words???????? When did I ask??????? Hahahha, no, nothing is "telling about me" to you who dont even know colors, or words 🤣💀 we have already established that youre just making ignorant lazy assumptions and DONT KNOW WORDS. pls take tour IQ 45 bs elsewhere.
@@Ariifas-r1w oh wow youve seen ginger hair depicted as GOLDEN and SOMEWHAT ORANGE 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 wow thats great for you buddy. Maybe youve seen other crazy things like the sky and sea depicted as blue or fire depicted as red/orange/yellow/gold/white ?? 🤡🤡🤡 go tell the world these fascinating observations of yours, Im sure theyll be astounded 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@audhumbla6927 lol why don’t you instead go tell the world what else you pout over other than hair colour (that has been depicted in many ways same as her body) and let's see how many people would be surprised
I have been traveling and the perception of beauty changes a lot. Just for context my features are pale skin, blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, rounder jaw, smaller lips, and skinny. In my country I've been called a stick and sickly, having no big curves and being so pale. Even was relentlessly bullied by boys in middle school for it. But when I visit Asia or middle eastern countries, it changes dramatically. Suddenly people compliment me a lot and approach me constantly. The general perception of beauty is influenced by the culture, history and media. While there is simultaneously also an individual perception. Which can be influenced by personal experiences, personalities and biology
You shouldnt use the phrase "dirty blonde" its dumb and antiwhite. Dirt isnt golden yk.... Why insult yourself AND lie every time you describe your haircolor? Learn real words to use instead.
My only standard for beauty is relative symmetry and for someone to not have visible traits of genetic or health abnormalities (its nothing personal, but as a female, the genetic health of the next generation is something i should be taking into account. Oh and also that you smell good. And have a non annoying voice. Theses more types of beauty than visual
Modern standards really are toxic but it's our fault. Women's and men's fault. Women's because they want to stand out. And men's because they create competition between women. This is unfortunately. Because being an "Aphrodite" in modern world is very easy (unless you're really ugly, but most girl are avarage)
She said that????? 😮🤯 Jeesus how embarassing. I couldnt get through this whole mess of a video, so disrespectful. Imagine if I made a video about an asian goddess saying in a mocking tone "you probably imagine her pale and slim with black hair" as if there was something wrong with that 😭 but ghis girl doesnt even have eyes that work, she showed 10 paintings of a very obviously REDHEADED woman and said "blonde" 🤡 cringe.
@@RED-my9hl The pount is that Europeans dont have FLAT noses, we have high welldeveloved nasal bridges, compared to east asian, subsaharan african and american native populations. Other "caucasian" populations that are not european are usually the only ones with bigger noses (not the with but again, high and well developed nasal bridge) then europeans. That is north african, west asian, levantine etc. Their noses usually also point down wich european noses dont no nearly as often, and their nasal brindges although well developed are not as high as europeans. European noses already stand out between the eyes, while non-european caucasians start lower down. Thats how you xan easily detect nosejobs on them because the european nose they try to immitate looks wrong since it lacka the high bridge. But claiming that europeans dont have large noses on a global scale is an insane and ignorant statement. Just read old records of first contact, asians were always stunned at the strange pointy nose of the europeans. Who are you comparing to exactly?
@@audhumbla6927yeah I mean that, also I forgot to add that iranians, north africans, middle easterns, mixed latin americans and other peoples may have or have an “european nose”, its not a surprise since those groups share ancestry.
I think her appearance was based on the beauty standards of her time. Its quite ironic if u think about it because even the most beautiful goddess in the greek mythology is bound by what that society deems as beautiful.
The fact that majority of people see work as the main aspect of their lives and money as their goal above all else, there continues to be less and less care for anything outside of that such as personal relationships and self care. However, one of those can be bought by said money while the other needs genuine effort and attention as well as a level of self awareness, growth and patience that our current society doesn't reward the way it does the capitalist option of different self care tools and courses that can "fix your problems" for you. Loved the vid ❤
a post on tumblr said "what if aphrodite looks different to everyone" like if a gay man see her, shes a hot man to him, but his straight friends see a beautiful woman. they also mention aroace people may not be able to see her at all and shes pissed about it (hopefully not enough to kill people)
We become so obsessed with having the same things that we fail to appreciate the different things we have... If we don't change the way we think about things we will be susceptible to their manipulation...
I dont know many men who care all that much about the body. Most women i see, even in dance class, arent proportionate, are a bit chubby, have cellulitis etc. Men it seems actually dont care. Sure it's a plus if she has a nice body but they want a beautiful face before everything. I am blessed with a nice body and face. Having a nice body at 30+ isnt that common. I have a narrow hourglass. So firm breast, small and flat tummy and round bum. Let me tell you. Besides a quick compliment or two, and sometimes not even, i dont feel that my body actually matters to them. They much prefer what i can do with it... it is very bizarre. I feel sad for women who spend their time sculpting their bodies at the gym only to look hot to them. Because truly that isnt even that important to them.
You don't feel it matters to them because you already have what they want as per your own words describing yourself to have a nice body and face. Become a bit fat and see if things change,or just listen to women with different less "acceptable" body and their experience. Sometimes privilege isn't so clearly an advantage but a lack of struggle which seems to be your case.
@@liliecoffey8846 wanting to have sex is a pretty healthy desire, not misogynistic... If you interpreted what she said in some weird way and saw it as misogynistic it's your projection.
@@elalala576 Statistically speaking there are not that many lonely women, especially compared to men. Men in general really don't have high standards when it comes to women's beauty. Most are okay with dating not very attractive women, and if you want to be deemed as attractive by them it's possible and not too difficult for most women - don't be fat, brush your hair, use a little makeup. As a man, I really wish people applied to me the same "unrealistic" beauty standards they do to women.
The way I literally hate western beauty standards! My ideal look for myself is chubby, flat nose, buttoned, round face, chubby cheeks, rounder facial features... its so cute and soft!
@@flowersdoll You dont think adults posses the capability of moving and learning new languages? 🤡 Flat nose isnt an european trait. So this is a non-european person complaining about european culture. As if anyone forced them to live in our nations and speak our languages. Wouldnt you find it silly if I complained all day about african beauty standards, in africa, in an african language, when Im not even african? It would obviously be ridicolous, saying anything else is saying that non-africans should get to decide over africans in africa, and Im sure you dont believe that. So stop being a hypocrite and learn to think.
