First time watching this particular Gsharp vid. Been a fan for many years. I could always tell that he was a sweet blues player and that those skills clearly stretched well beyond the way slash plays blues, this is much more in the vein of SRV, Hendrix, old Clapton and the Kings (Albert, BB, and Freddy). He had such good feel, bends, and vibrato. As someone who is a big slash fan myself, but also just as much a fan of the other guys just mentioned, I can say the Gsharp is one of my favorite players and definitely my favorite of the youtune slash players. People trying to learn slash style should split their time between learning all the cool legato stuff and just playing with this kind of feel and attitude (keep those bends in tune). RIP
Dude, I am with you. He is/was the best of the Slash guys to me. For me his playing is better than slash, his vibrato and bends were really more like guys like clapton, hendrix, and SRV,,,smoother and more vocal, yes he really worked the slash legato like a champ. I am always watching these old videos. Such as well spoken guys too.
This little random video from the late Gsharp nicely demonstrates why he is/was my favorite player of this style. In my opinion his blues feel (bends, vibrato, phrasing) was better than slash and he could do the legato thing as well. This guy is probably my favorite player!
