It sounded like he just said the first thing that came into his head. Then Ron gently led it further astray, all with Andy Warhol sitting there watching. Surreal!
I reckon The Kinks songs still sound fresh and are holding up very well. Their harmonies are very good and tunes were written by a very good songwriter in Ray Davies. Also, not forgetting brother Dave's songs. A vastly underrated group who will still probably be remembered far longer than some of today's so-called superstars!
THIS is why I tried to watch THE MIKE DOUGLASS SHOW whenever I could in the mid 60s to 1970. You could not see an interview with THE KINKS anywhere else in the U.S. with only 3 network TV stations back then. I saw this show!
Mike had EVERYBODY worth watching. Sherri Lewis...& the Standells? Wow. Barbara Feldon & the Electric Prunes?? WOW! Many. His list of guests were equal to none.
They are really quite strange. There songs are devilishly good - and they're my favorite band regardless if I listen to them alot or not. Every Ray and Dave is a star I believe Crowley said that.
“Mike Douglas” was on every afternoon at 4pm in USA. it got such high ratings that it would get some very big music stars on it say plugging a new album. When John Lennon faced deportation he was on every day for a week in order to gain the American people to stand with him and not be deported.
I wish the top volume on this video was louder. Laptops have lousy speakers! Surely whoever posted this can adjust the volume in their video software? I know it can be done because I use video software.
@@duffbaker9554 no they don't. they have the same max volume limit. RU-vid has MANY higher volume videos. This is up to the uploader, who apparently desires secrecy.

The Davis, brus, can sings. And can plays the..electrics guitars... becuz..those days it was. A longs cords attach too..a big blk sound...trask...and hear the...sound clearly...and a use a riff a ...use for the springs of the cord..I for got the words..they use theirs hands...plays the guitars..but playling.. it for so..long..times..1964s the artists, raymond...Davis, and his younger, brus, hands are stiffness...and arthritic..too..not sure..I don't hardly knowed them, their managers, told thems, too wears suits..becuz...enterprises..org, not the brits, Irish, north american, Canadians, too..others too..Australian, all indivi..Asians Indians, chinese..Indonesians, Africans blknamericans, also...thats how it go..dressed codes but those times those day, is old school, but in..the org, offices..is'nt old schools..still..exists today..okay..
